A quick change of subject...

Call to action and other vaping advocacy banners--are they gone forever? Can we bring them back? It's so important, especially now, to let vapers know that their input in desperately needed, both locally and nationally.

Thanks.

True, but that's not what she said. She stated that she has to check in daily. That's no normal behavior of any forum I know.
Stew, I must be misunderstanding something, then. The system will only send out one notification for a subscribed thread, so if a user is logged out for a few days they won't get any additional ones after the first (until they've logged in again). I thought this was what she was describing?

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work, but you don't have to check in daily (for it to work properly). I gathered from her post that that is what she was needing to do.

For example, you get an alert. You don't click on the link (or visit the thread). You won't get another alert until you do so, but the next time you do (1 week later, for example), you'll get another alert.

Additionally, you get an alert. You check the thread/link. No other posts are made in that thread for 4 days. When that post is made (4 days later), you should get another alert regardless of whether or not you've visited the thread since the last one.

Neither scenario needs "daily" check ins.

Well, I check in almost daily and notice that if I don't, I don't get notifications. But since changing to the new forum, mortification a have been spotty. For example, my last email notifications on threads I follow was about a week ago. I think there was one day I didn't check in. I did get alerts on one of the threads I follow regularly, but none on two.

 posts can be edited if you are mortified by the original version! :D
Not if your "friends" on the thread quote the original version and tease you about it. You are particularly vulnerable if you are a perfectionist when writing.

Is it possible to add to the "emotion banners"? I would like to add some. Nothing bad, just some more humorous one such as "flabbergasted" and similar. Would be perfectly willing to do the artwork if given the specifications and such.

Just a suggestion, If "You" are talking about smilies/emoticons/emojis . . . "You" could always create them, then upload to a Media File here on ECF, especially if "You" are also willing/want to share them with everyone too . . . ;)

No problem with that at all. I'm actually talking about the little mood doodads that we stick under our avatars. Like

. Would have to wait until I get my computer set back up after our big move to Florida but, I used to do graphic design for a living and would be more than willing to help out with some artwork for the forum if you need it.

We'll look into it, but "banners" as they used to work under vB aren't present in this software. We can do notices, but they take up a lot more real estate. We may need to code a custom addon to do it properly.

Burnie is correct. If you click an http link, you will get logged out. How that happens, I'm not sure (@retired1 may know), but I do know that you will get logged out.

(I fixed @Katya's link so it doesn't happen again here :) )

What am I being accused of, again?

I didn't do nothing... Lemme look...

Aha, like I said! I'm innocent, your honor! @DC2 is trying to sabotage this forum--his link to his own thread is bad. I clicked on that and got kicked out myself... And then posted his bad link in here.

Sorry...

@sonicdsl, love--can you fix DC2s original sin? Thanks!

Well, there you go then...
