I am hoping that somebody can help me out with this. Or at least say that they know what I'm talking about. I use blank cartomizers. I'll fill one and use it with no problem. I'll fill the next one and I may get a few good hits off of it, and then the flavor changes. It's not a normal burnt taste. I've burned up cartomizers before and I know what that tastes like. This tastes more like being in the middle of a paint factory that's ablaze. A horrible flavor that I can only liken to burning polyurethane. A good 50% of the cartomizers I use are like this. So in order to get 5 good cartos, I have to order 10. I find the whole experience extremely frustrating. I've posted this problem before in other forums but nobody seems to know what I'm talking about.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anybody know a fix for this?

@ Princessdee they are described as "Genuine Kanger" and measure around 2.8 ohms. I get them from Vapor Kings. I've also tried ordering from Vapors Etc. Same problem. Not the companies fault - got to be the manufacturers. I've used all different types of batteries, but I have noticed that it's worse with batteries that are freshly charged.

@ Studio52 Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm afraid I've tried that. I've overfilled them and let them soak overnight. The next morning? 12 - 15 good hits and then that wonderful chemical taste. - Let me amend that, sometimes it does work, just not always.

That is a problem that pops up time to time and can be a horrible issue if you purchase multiple boxes of blanks. I have, on more than on occasion, received the nasty tasting cartos. I call them the "dirty sock" cartos. My best guess is that the filler material being used is garbage. I have encountered this taste with Bloog's, Volts and V2's. Considering that these things are probably all made in China who knows what it may really be.

It seems like the most common culprit I have found is the coil is pushed off to the side and not centered in the hole. If you can manage to get the right light behind an unused carto, you can see down the hole in the horizontals. On every one I've had that was bad, the coil wasn't sitting right. Must be contacting something down there.

"Dirty Sock" would be a welcome flavor next to the flavor of "flaming kerosine" I have experienced. Am stuck on the LR vertical coils. Perfect draw, loads of flavorful vapor and no nasty taste. Charlz is right, it's a problem with the coil. Because the carts taste just fine when they're flooded. Once that liquid dries up, there must be an area of the coil not making contact. Pure foulness ensues.
