Just thought I'd share some easy sources for nichrome wire and silica rope. Get a hand held blow dryer at a thrift store and open it up. There's lots of nichrome wire in there to last you a while. Get an oven door at the junk yard or "white" recycling and pull the gasket off - it's silica rope you can unravel for strands to last you forever. Saves on shipping and waiting.
