Hello all

I ended up buying my Lambo Epic Storm, a vivi nova tank, and like so many I began the hunt for the best experience I could find, and like so many of you, still are. Now I will say, I am fairly happy with my vivi nova, and was thinking to move into some sort of RBA but not so much for taste, but just for the benefit of being able to rebuild instead of rebuy (and yes I know I can rebuild my nova, but I also want to try something like a genesis). So as I am wanting so find myself something like the genesis style RBA, I started to notice some of these drip style RBAs, and it got me thinking... "hmmm when you got your Lambo you got an atomizer with drip tip that you never use... well dont you think after all this time you should try dripping?".

Now I have heard from so many folks how dripping is so good, and its such a great taste. Well I dunno perhaps my taste buds are totally messed up, but I found dripping to be horrible. I hated how the draw felt, how it tasted, how the vape felt coming up into my mouth. I was shocked to say the lease! I dunno what I was expecting, but it was not what I got. I know that everyone has their own taste, and that different people will like different things, however I didn't think it would be this extreme. I use a vivi nova and have heard how it mutes taste, and some hate the draw and or taste, or how some prefer carts, or mesh vs cotton vs hemp wicks, however for myself when I went from carts to the nova I noticed abit of a difference, and prefer the nova, however I still like my carts, its not like I found one so much better then the other, just one I like a bit more.

Now I was thinking that the experience of vaping would come down to a slightly better taste/hit to perhaps a moderate, and that the big factor of different liquid delivery systems would come down to choosing what worked best for a person, his/her situation/usage, and that it performed without to much hassles to correct flooding/dry hits... you know stuff like how much liquid it will hold, the ease of use, wanting to be able to rebuild or just replace parts, or just replace the whole thing, wanting or not wanting to use carts, and small things like that, perhaps the biggest change would be the draw and a slight edge in flavor. Well I was so wrong! Out of all the stuff I have used, and I will admit its not a heck of alot compared to some, but I have tried to try what I can, and I never ever thought that the experience of a certain style of delivery system could affect ones vape so much in a negative way.

It has just come to such a shock to me, I honestly didn't think something could affect things so drastically when it came to vaping. It has got me wondering, since I want to get into real RBAs (not just my rebuilding of my vivi nova), should I even bother looking at ones that can be used as a drip/tank mix? Does the dripping experience change with different setups? And (perhaps this question is more preference by person then the method) is there going to be a large difference if I get a genesis style RBA and going to a mesh wick?

Sorry for the long read, however it was the best way I could come up with explaining the situation and the best way to have things worded for the questions at the end. I hope the way I have it put down is understandable as to what I am trying to express and get an answer to with regards to my questions. Thanks in advance.

Dripping takes some getting used to, and not all atomisers are made equal. You should probably try some alternate equipment before you write it off completely. You can get 510 SR atomisers quite cheaply, and there's rebuildable types too.

I am just trying a Phoenix RBA and it's actually very nice. I can drip 12 or so drops and vape away in front of the TV (oops don't forget to drip some more!) The flavour is great but it took me a little while to adjust to using it. As long as you remember to drip, it's very hard to get a dry hit from the Phoenix, and I can turn the power up to get more vapour without affecting the flavour as much.

I like my Vivi Nova as well, but you can't turn the power up much, and you have to be careful not to toot on it too quickly as it can wick slowly even if titling and twirling. I think the "muted flavour" people speak of with the Vivi Nova is more of wicking/hot burn problem.

I tried dripping and found that I didn't like it much myself. I could have tried to get used to it but there were so many things that I wanted to try. I started with the eGo T for a bit then I used dual coil cartomizers for a while, then went to a carto/tank. Now I use the SVT Vision Vivi Nova at 3.2ohm with a provari mini v2.5 and I love it.

I bought the AGA-T a while back but cant seem to get it right. I've been interested in RBA's for a while but all I seem to do is make a mess and just have a pile of metal in the end.

Is that Pheonix RBA the BUlldog? I was sort of looking at that one.

Or the Bulldog is the Phoenix. I'm not sure which one was first, but there's lots of "Phoenix clones" out there.

When done correctly, it works very well. The airhole is in the right place when the top is screwed on, the draw is good, and it vapes great. I've had my clone two weeks and not had to touch the coil except to wash and dry burn it occasionaly when changing flavours. Drip 12 drops and vape away. I find it less hassle than the Vivis and other clearos when at home, and it tastes great.

It took me a little while to get the hang of it - I was getting dry hits at first.

1) Use low watts until the coil is run in

2) If you just washed the wick, make sure it is dry before using it. Drip 12 drops straight up and let it sit for 1 minute.

3) If the taste goes off you are dripping too slow - drip 9 drops immediately.

4) Enjoy the vapour!

Edit:
5) If it gurgles or doesn't work properly you have flooded it. Tilt it back so the air hole is pointing up at 45 degrees and take two or three toots and you are good to go.
