APC Mobile Power Pack, 10Wh

Technical PDF file http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z7VAM_R1_EN.pdf

Technical info is 10Wh @ 5v or 2000 mAh @ 5v the output is a usb 2.0 basically So I wanted to get the opinions wiring this should be a breeze and all you would need to do is change the switch to a momentary switch and remove the female usb connection and add in your battery connection of choice.

you can get them for 40-50 dollars shipped online 3 bucks for a switch + dead batter = a nice 5v vaper for 55 dollars that will also act as a PT and is rechargeable without taking the batteries out.

Also nice to have the battery indicator on the side nifty little feature...

This guy is using it as a power pack for is passthrough

I've built a mod using the guts of a mobile power pack, though I've never used this particular one. The basics are going to be the same for any of them, however. What I've done is rip open the casing, take out the guts, put them in a battery box, throw in a switch (and LED, if you want one), and then wire the atomizer to either the USB out leads (for 5V) or directly to the battery (for regular voltage ~3.5-4.2v).

I used mine as a passthrough for awhile, but my USB passthrough died. They can indeed be modded, but the weak link is mounting the socket. No matter which way you cut it, where the socket connects to the case is going to be the flex point, and if you ever forget to take the atomizer out when done or apply any pressure to it while vaping your going to rip the socket out. I did that so often I made the wires inside way longer than they needed to be and carried a soldering iron around in my pocket. No joke.

Also you wouldn't want to remove the female USB, as you can drill a hole next to it and mount the socket there. I can charge my phone and vape at the same time. Another interesting thing, you have to push the button and it will give you 5v at the usb port for 20 minutes, but its a 3.7-4v battery, and I found a way I can tap off either way if I want (still retaining the batteries protective circuit).

One last thing. If your atomizer shorts out you are probably going to blow a fuse in there. Took me 20 minutes trying to troubleshoot the board circuits before I found it, and now its slightly less safe as I soldered over it. Oh well, happy vaping!
