Since getting a bottom feed box lately I started paying attention to things BF related. One of those things is the Fountain V2 Style rta Bottom Feeder Atomizer. It was a $12 purchase, an easy one to stomach if it sucks I figured. I have to admit I like it.

If I was doing it again and just wanted to know what the BF fuss is all about then this is what I would buy first. It works on any mod capable of firing a dripper since the squonk bottle is built into the atty. The deck is easy to build on and the airflow adjustment is made with holes above the glass chamber covering the build section. I don't get leaks with this design so I am happy.

I have a Fountain V2 and it works really well. Though it does have a few cons in my opinion. The glass is not super snug and can pop off easily so for me that eliminates pocket carry. When I squonk the juice tends to flow more to one side which can be a pain, the next time I rebuild I'm going to see if the center post comes out so I can dremel a couple of slots. Occasionally the Ohms can jump around, which I've discovered the fault lies with a little bit of juice gets in around the squonk bottle and the threads where the upper RDA screws into the base. Once I wipe it dry the Ohms become stable again. Could just be defect with my Fountain.

I can't wait to get a Skyfall as Roxy suggested!

My glass is tight so I guess some are and some are not. Maybe trying some different O-rings would solve the problem if yours isn't tight like mine. Not sure what to make of the one sided squonk since the juice goes up into a circular area - sounds like you are describing half of a hole (something I don't remember seeing or believing is even possible). Ohms are stable with mine.

It was driving me crazy... I knew I've seen something similar to this a few years back, but couldn't think of it's name. After some searching around, it was the Surge Tank by JCModtronics:

Then, there was the Aurora:

The Fountain V2 looks interesting, and fairly well made for it's low cost of admission. I may just pick one up to give it a spin.. ;)

Yeah I haven't tried replacing the o-rings yet, that may solve my loose glass issue.

When I squonk the juice comes out through the lead holes and for some reason tend to come out more on one side. It could be because of the fused clapton build I have in it at the moment. I'd still prefer the feeder holes to be at deck level so hopefully I can make that happen.

I started a thread on the Fountain V2 in August if you want to join in there as well. There are a few more of us over there. :)

Thanks for the heads up - I will check out that thread! Feel free to add what you learn here too since this is a squonker of sorts :)

Haha. :D Yeah, where to put a thread on this thing? Here it is in the Liquid Feed APV section, but it's not an APV. There it is in the RTA section, but it's not exactly a RTA. It is basically an Aeolus RDA with a squonk section below, but that in no way makes it a RDA. Where should it go?

I stuck the thread in the RTA section because I thought that's what it's a possible replacement for. Since I got into mine and modified it the way I most like it, it's been upstaging my RTAs right and left. So there the Fountain V2s sit on my atty rack among the best tanks, and I'm picking it instead more and more.

Actually, they're not spending much time at all on the rack these days. :)

What the saying, "that which was old is new again"

Fountain looks interesting, maybe for something like the micro stic or a Kato mod. Can't see using it on a Tube mech or a regular box mod, have to be something with a recessed 510 or hybrid. The reason I went to squonk was because I find my RTAs and geni too tall and I didn't want to drip.

I'm using my Fountain on a Kato clome & it's perfect. The top doesn't stay on as much as I'd like so I have a little electrical tape holding it in place, fortunately it's hidden due to the Kato design. It's a winner for me, the taste is excellent, as good as my REO although no where near as durable.
