Sounds like a nice TV. I have a Mitsubishi 52". Think they call it a DLP or something. I know it has a plug for a Ethernet cord. Also USB and memory cards. The light is just one unit and it hides under the front panel that sits under the screen. Would cost only $100 to change it out DIY. I bought it from a guy that fixes TV's for just $200 and I love the TV. Before I just had a 32" so it was a nice upgrade. I wonder if I just plug a Ethernet into it if I would be able to get on the internet on the TV. I have a PS3 also.
The best way I've found to find out about my TV is to Google the model number and find a forum where it's being discussed. Mine doesn't have internet input and doesn't even have HDMI. I'm using composite for video from my Dish Network receiver.
Google Playon. Playon lets you use a laptop or desktop to wirelessly connect your TV using the computer as a server through your Wii, Xbox, or PS3. Virtually anything you can watch on your computer, you can watch using Playon. They give you a free trial period, after which you have to subscribe at something like $79 a year. You can go to any of the network web sites, Hulu, TV.com, and a bunch of others to view content. Some of those sites will have subscriptions. Amazon Prime will get you most anything you want to watch on TV that way for $79.95 a year. It includes free 2 day shipping on a lot of items that you buy from Amazon.
