It’s the Freemax twister 30W Kit. It’s a smaller version of the original twister 80W. The kit was provided to me by Freemax to provide an honest review to you. I will do my best to make that happen. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the kit and I will give you my thoughts on it.

    First Impressions:

I received the blue kit which just so happens to be my favorite color so that got a couple bonus points from when I just opened the box. A long time ago, I reviewed the original Twister so was pretty familiar with the operation. However, the original came with the Fireluke 2 tank and the 30W kit comes with Fireluke 22 kit. The Twister 30W mod is very simple to operate. You simply turn the silver wheel on the bottom of the mod to select your desired wattage. It is adjustable in 2.5 watt increments from 7.5 watts to 30 watts. The 10,15,20,25, and 30 watt settings have the numbers on the base while the 2.5 watt increments in between just have five vertical dashed lines. It could be a con for some that all of the numbers aren’t printed on the base but I didn’t mind at all and once I get a coil set to the wattage I like then it stays there for the most part. There are also vent holes on the bottom of the silver wheel which I believe are for battery venting. The Twister has a 1400mah battery which seemed like plenty to me. Especially when running the higher resistance coil with the mtl tip. Also the mod has a lighted fire button that changes color as the battery drains. It starts out at green and then goes to blue and then red at the lowest.

The Fireluke 22 tank comes with two drip tips. Almost every tank that I buy or test ends up with a different drip tip than what it came with. This one was the exception. I first tried the unit with the .5 ohm coil and the larger drip tip. It was not only very comfortable to use but also very attractive in appearance in my opinion. I used this first coil for over a week with the mod set at 17.5 and the airflow open. It provided a very flavorful and what I would consider a generous amount of vapor for a unit such as this. I then switched to the 1.5 coil with the mtl drip tip. I found that the first few days I liked it at 10 watts and was getting very good flavor from it. After a few days, I did turn it up to 12.5 just because I wanted a little more vapor from it.

The tank itself is well built. The top cap moves similarly to other tanks that I’ve use where you lift and slide the top open to the side to expose the fill port. Like some of the other Freemax tanks I’ve reviewed, I felt like I would have liked it to open a little further to make more room for filling but didn’t have any issues or spills when filling. Maybe it’s just me. The lift and slide mechanism is to make the tank childproof. While using the Fireluke 22, I did not get any flooding or dry hits with either coil. It consistently provided very good flavor with both coils. I was not surprised as I have reviewed a few different Freemax kits and every one of them has had fantastic flavor production in my opinion. There are actually three different coils listed on their website for this kit but only two were included in the kit. It is nice that the o rings on the different resistance coils are color coded so that you can easily see what coil you are installing instead of having to squint or go find your reading glasses. I for one do appreciate this as my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be.

    Final Thoughts:

When I first received the Twister 30W kit, I had a pretty good feeling that I was going to like it. I tend to run many of my RTAs in the 20-30 watt range so figured this one was going to be right in my wheelhouse. I also use some MTL tanks so was excited to try both the DTL coil and the MTL coil with the different tips. I very much liked the color of the mod and tank. It is super simple to use and even though there’s no screen and it adjusts in 2.5 watt increments, I very much liked it. Unlike the Twister 80W, this one is much smaller and can easily fit into a pocket. You can click the fire button five times to turn the unit on or off to carry in a pocket.

Just like all of the other Freemax kits that I’ve reviewed in the past, the Twister 30W with the Fireluke 22 produces fantastic flavor with a respectable amount of vapor. With a name like Fireluke, it had to produce great flavor right? The top on the tank is fairly easy to lift and slide open but can’t open on accident. I would have liked it to slide open a little further to expose the fill port but that is just nitpicking.

I feel like this kit is not only great for out and about pocket carrying but also speaks to an often forgotten group of vapors that it seems are often forgotten when it’s one high wattage mod and tank after another. I think this kit is a great fit for the mid range DTL users that prefer something in the 15-30w range like I do. It’s also a great MTL kit. You can turn it down and close off the airflow holes to get a pretty tight MTL vape also.

So, would I recommend this kit? If you like low wattage MTL or medium wattage restricted DTL with great flavor production then I would say YES! It has been a very good performing and solid kit during my time using it. Thanks to Freemax for providing the Twister 30W kit for this review and thanks to those that take the time to read until the end. Very good review, it seems as if Freemax just keeps on bringing good kit after good kit. A big plus for me is the compact size.

I’ve reviewed both maxus kits, the autopod, maxpod, and now this one. It’s really been a pleasure reviewing so many kits with such great flavor producing coils. Like I said, I think this kit will appeal to so many different styles of vapers.

Did you try removing the coil with liquid still in it? Freemax claims the liquid will not leak out.

I did not. I changed flavors when I changed coils so I cleaned out the tank. I'll do it after I get home from work tonight over a sink and let you know what happens.

I'm just curious, don't go out of your way!

Ok, so I laid down a couple paper towel, pulled the coil out and it didn’t leak a drop. I believe the inside of the tank is spring loaded so when you pull the coil out then it shuts off the juice flow.

Thanks, another nice innovation from Freemax. To be honest I've never needed to remove/change a coil with liquid still in the tank.
