:p

Snus?? I thought you guys were talking about snot. Now I'm lost, too. Since when is snot considered smokeless tobacco and why do Swedes keep exporting it the U.S.? Answer me that, hitt. Why? Why? And how do we rate freshness after long-term storage? ........!

147 cans !!?!, reckon that might be a record of some sort - & sorry wasn't meaning to worry anyone,
it was probably just a subjective thing or comparing apples & oranges maybe.

Hitman, was going to say exactly the opposite - these Thunder Berry seem to be very soft & pleasantly easy-fit c.f. TF,
had another really pleasant & very dreamy night - perhaps this batch has got a little something 'extra' in it :?:

Freshness... assuming we're actually trying to quantify anything,
could be difficult, the subjective experience of 'good snus-ness' (units of milli-snuggles),
so after careful consideration : old TFrosted = 352 mSn & currently fresh TBerry = 836 mSn

:w00t:....That gets my vote for a new rating system.

Really, I can't tell any difference between older and newer unless it's a can that has some that are evidently freezer burnt. As far as TB vs TF goes, I'm with hittman. I don't know what's different, but TB slaps me in the face better (note I didn't say harder :)) than TF. I like 'em both, but I'm a lot better stocked on TB. I use a lot of Skruf ES, which is s'posed to be the highest in nic, and it comes on slow, solid and lasts a long time. TB comes on faster and seems to put me at a different level of consciousness. Needless to say, I usually alternate portions between the two to appreciate the contrast. And appear moderately sane to the outside world :).

Smart axxes! TV I'm just repeating what I heard this guy with long hair and a ball cap say one time. You were one of the ones that taught me, remember? Or has oldtimers disease creeped up on you? Just kidding. I know it's hard for us to imagine that some people don't know what snus is but I remember there was a time that I didn't either.

Exo, I too like your system of measurement. Now all we need is someone to rate every snus out there. I vote for TV.

Axl, if you have that many and don't like some of what you have then I'll bet that some of the folks around here would buy some of it from you.

Noticing another difference between old & new -
at the end of a snus session, usually gently chew the portion a bit to get the final fling out of it,
the old ones are much more bitter veryquickly & get spat out,
c.f. new ones can chew for a while before excessive bitterness kicks in.

TBerry has now risen to 978 mSn, so soft and luverly, but not quite cuddly.

Off now for another peaceful night.

    hey people,
i am from denmark where they actually also sell this stuff in newsstands and have been many time to sweden as well.
In all of these stores they keep their snus in a little separated refrigerator. As far as the snus-users i know: They all keep their spare boxes in the fridge and have the one their using out.
i am also an occasional snus-user and i prefer the fridge-storing method as well. I feel the taste degrades quite rapidly (say after a week) if left outside and becomes really bitter, at least with my brand, generalens black in pouches.
Never heard of anybody freezing that stuff here, neither do I. But hey, that's understandable if you just can go down to the newsstand to get a pack.

Clearly, the real point of gotch23's post is that he/she is volunteering to purchase snus in Denmark and ship it to people in this subforum at rational shipping rates.

By the way, gotch23, I've had some good times in your hometown. You guys know how to have fun. Americans have no idea what they are missing. :)

That's also how I read it. How 'bout some of that illegal snus we can't get in the USA, as in LD and the Cuban tobacco snus.

Is this the beginning of the snus black market!!!!!!

Gee, I just found the licorice, from Catch and really like it.

Axl, I haven't taken a count but with this last order I probably have even more than you.

Everyone, I too have noticed a quicker level of bitterness with some of the older snus in after they've been in for a while, but it seems to be only some portions.

The only minis I have are Oomp and Northern and unfortunately I think they are much better fresh. Either that or my taste has changed in the last year.

I'm a freezer guy totally until it's time to use them. Then I just pack what I'll use the next two or three days and it works well for me.

As Martin Luther King said, "I have a dream"' and gotch is living it. I would love to be able to stop at the local convenience store and pick up a few cans for the next few weeks. Fresh has got to be best, but we live in separate realities and I can't see BT letting some Scandinavian company take market share once they put a stranglehold on it. They'd just sick the FDA on them and claim they're protecting the children.
