This is a modification on the Yellow Cake Batter recipe by Skwerl.

Flavor at 20%:
35% TPA Dulce de Leche
40% Capellas Vanilla Custard
25% TPA/Capellas Caramel

Since the TPA Dulce de Leche is actually not yet for sale (I had a sample she sent me) this recipe may have to wait.
You could also replace the DdL with some Milk Chocolate. NOT Dark Chocolate or Double Chocolate, as these two flavors are too strong and turn the recipe into a chocolate cake batter vs the French Silk Pie Batter this recipe is going for.

I am soooo going to order Dulce de Leche from PA and make this recipe. I am a serious fanatic for Capella's Vanilla Custard!

Linda is working on a vanilla custard. She sent me a sample a while back since she knows I am a huge Capellas fan. She wanted me to do a "side-by-side" comparison of the two. Her flavor is good, but.....
Well, here is what I sent her as a review.

"Here is my side-by-side review on your Vanilla Custard vs. Capella's VC.

First, I am using a Tornado/eGo with a full battery and I am using the PTB cart filler mod.

Here are my observations:
1 - The Capella's has a much stronger smell to it.
2 - the Capella's has a slight yellow tint to the liquid where yours is still almost clear.
3 - Capella's has a very slight sweet vanilla inhale with the exhale giving you more of the custard flavor. Neither are very strong, they are both actually subtle but the flavor is definitely there. Inhale is weak with the strength of the flavor coming out on the exhale.
4 - Your VC has more of a custard inhale and exhale with very little vanilla flavor coming through when compared to Capella's. The strength of the flavor is in the inhale and it looses flavor on the exhale. The exhale almost loses the custard flavor and turns into something else I can not quite place.

Verdict:
The Capella's VC is the better flavor, but it still slightly misses the mark, especially on the inhale. The exhale is much better. The two flavors are distinct and noticeable.

Your VC definitely has the custard flavor, especially on the inhale. But it looses it on the exhale.
There is very little vanilla flavor at all, especially when comparing side-by-side with Capella's flavor.
I do not think that the flavor would improve if mixed at a higher percentage because the base flavor just doesn't seem to be there.

Someone not having a direct comparison like I have done would probably really like your flavor and wouldn't complain at all.

Suggestions:
I would probably say to keep the custard flavor where it is and just add more of the vanilla flavor. If you could bring out the vanilla more, your inhale would be great and the sweetness of the vanilla may just bring the custard flavor on the exhale back into line where it should be."

She is continuing to work on it. And I think she will eventually nail it.
Since I have started using her flavors, I have pretty much started using her flavors exclusively. Her flavors are much "cleaner" and "pure" tasting compared to most, even most of the Capella versions of the flavors.

Her DdL is to die for. It is SOOO much better than TV's version.

Trust me, you will not regret buying the DdL from her. :vapor:

Yes, and no.
Yes it does, but no, it is not near as strong as Capellas nor is it as "distinct" as Capellas. What I mean by that is that when you smell the VC by Capella you KNOW it is VC without ever seeing the bottle. Linda's VC is not that way. You would not know it was VC unless you saw the bottle or was told.
But don't hold any of this against her. I have all the faith in the world that she will get this flavor perfected, and even BETTER than Capella's VC in no time. After all, she has done SOOOO good with her other flavors that I fail to see how she will miss the mark on this on eventually.
