I had it plugged in yesterday for at least an hour. The lights were doing the flash dance the entire time. Someone else on another thread said that the lights are not supposed to be flashing when it is charging so now I am confused. What I mean by flashing is I plug it in to a power source using the micro USB plug that came with it. The lights flash from red to yellow to green (3 times on the green and occasionally a 4th but it is delayed). I can push the + and - buttons and see things popping up in the display. Not sure which one is supposed to show the battery life or charge or whatever. I even tried another micro USB plug. Actually several since most of our toys use micro USB plugs. Plus I noticed a very distinct rattle when I gently move it around quickly. That doesn't make sense. You know when you try to listen for the broken filament in a light bulb.
The light will flash when you first plug it in. The light will then stay green (once there is enough charge on it) until the charge is complete. Once it is done charging it will not be lit up anymore. I would contact the vendor if this is not what you are experiencing.
Yes it does have an automatic shut off after 10 seconds.
For me it is continually flashing and won't stop no matter how long I leave it plugged in. Plus there is that rattle I hear and it is internal not the button rattling.
Rattle solved. I was not thinking about the 2 bottom + and - buttons. Held those with the top power button and no more rattle. I just received word back from the vendor and gave him numbers that I am seeing when it is plugged in - a 1.8 , v 4.1, 0 , v 3.5. I gather that the U is actually supposed to be a V.
Good news. My Freedom Smokes is sending me a replacement with a return mailing label. As soon as I receive it and test it out, I will send back the defective one!
