Hey all,

I found a new drip line in my area, and I have been vaping on a strawberry yougurt flavor for weeks now. It is all 90% VG e-juice, and I only vape 3mg in my drippers. Yesterday, I went out to the store and saw that they had restocked a flavor I had sampled before and loved: Fruit Loops. Testing it was incredible, tastes exactly like fruit loops in a bowl of milk. :D They had just restocked the juice that day though, and it had been mixed that day as well. So basically I picked up something that had been made a few hours before my purchase. Last night I loaded up my dark horse with it, and tried to take a hit. TH was incredibly overpowering and the juice was unbelievably harsh. So harsh that it actually made my lungs and throat sore, and I had to stop vaping for the remainder of the night. I brought it back to the store this morning to tell them that I think I got bad batches, and unfortunately they can't return the e-juice since I did not open it in front of them (every shop I know of operates using this policy). What the manager did say was that it needs to steep. Can fresh e-liquid with a low nic content really be this harsh but be steep-able? I've steeped juice before, but it was never anything like this - It was just extra bottles that got to go into a dark room for a few weeks. Can steeping really take out this harshness? There IS a bit of perfume-ish something in the bottles when I smell them..Possibly alcohol?

As for steeping it...I figure that I will take the caps off and let the bottles sit for a few hours. After that, I will take a drill and my soft drill bit (a clean one) and use the drill to power-stir the juice and force some air into it. After that, caps back on and it will go into a dark, cool room for a week. What do you guys think about all of this? Any tips? If the juice is not salvageable, can I cut it with straight VG to take the harshness out so I at least get something for my money?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think cutting it with VG will take the harshness out, it might even make it more harsh. Perhaps thinning it with pg or filtered water might do it.

If anything adding more pg would make it harsher. I would suggest adding vg before pg but I wouldn't suggest either. Give it time, that's all you need.

That's just not what I've learned doing dyi. Any pure vg juices i've tried to make always came out really harsh, like it's burning the back of my throat. But different strokes for different folks, maybe your chemistry doesn't react to it that way.

No maybe you're right. I'm just getting my info from word of mouth and on here. I've always heard vg for big clouds and pg for throat hit and flavor.

Good-ish news. After I let them air out for a while, I used a trimmed q-tip as a drill bit and gave the bottles a powerful stir. After that I let them sit. They are both less harsh now, but not ready for vaping. This is a strong fruity flavor that has multiple fruits in it (fruit loops)...So I am thinking that all that flavoring needs to mellow out a bit.

After steeping if it is still too harsh, you can try dilute a bit with VG, by adding only a small amount at a time. that's what I do, But remember this will also decrease your nicotine content of the mixture. If you want the original concentration of nicotine, you'll need to add some more concentrated nicotine solution. Just make the calcutation of the volume right if you are used to DIY, so that you get the flavour and the nic concentration you want.
