Just a little brag of sorts.
Dinner tonight was delightful due to the fresh picked tomatoes. Just walked out to the shed and picked a huge bowl full
My grandfather gave me this hint years ago, another jewel of wisdom from he who be older than I. When the tomato plants start lookin' wimpy at the end of Summer pull them out, keep the roots intact, and hang them upside down in a cool darkish place.
I pulled mine a little over a 1 1/2 weeks ago and hung them up in the workshop out back. The plants are now parchment paper brittle dry. but the tomatoes continue to ripen. Nice way to bring in the winter months. And there's still a whole lot more out there!!
