Since new (last Thursday) I have been disappointed with the battery life of my Provari. Basically when I saw the button start flashing I would swap out my battery. I didn't think too much of it at first as I have no other 18490 devices and I have been using my Provari almost exclusively since I got it. The one thing I did find amazing is that the batteries would recharge pretty quickly compared to my 18650s or even 18350s.

So today after the light started blinking I decided to let it run out to see how long it would go. After a few hours of steady blinking (and usage) I checked the battery level (Cb) and it showed 3.5v, which seemed high to me to be 'low,' especially after a few hours since the button started blinking. As a side note I had noticed every once in a while I would get a high-pitched noise while firing the device. Research on the noise showed that the spring terminal might be dirty, strange after less than a week but I tried it and it seemed to get rid of the noise for awhile.

I started searching for where the battery level should be where the button starts flashing and couldn't find that before I found info stating that if the button is flashing on a not-low battery to clean the inside (upper terminal). I looked inside and noted there was black gunk on the terminal, like sealer, which had to have been there from the time it was assembled.

At any rate I used 99% alcohol to clean it up (and the batteries and the spring).

Guess what, the button isn't blinking on the same battery! Moral of the story, even if new, check and clean those contacts!
