So here is my two cents worth. I did not plan on quitting smoking. I had tried in the past and failed miserably. I couldn't even quit when I was pregnant. Or after I was in the hospital for a few weeks. The first thing after getting out? light up... in the hospital parking lot.... Anyway. My friend heard about vaping, got her setup from the tobacco store, had HUGE success, and I followed her lead. I started with the "blister pack" etron. cheap juice. it worked. I only smoked three to five a day. That was big to me, since I smoked over a pack a day.
Then I took the trip to the vape shop. Got good juice. Ordered disposable clearos from ebay. Couldn't wait for them, bought more from the gas station and the tobacco store, so I could switch between my flavors. Figured out I was a flavor junkie, I change every few minutes if I can. Then the juices didn't taste right anymore. I blamed it on my taste buds changing, on vapor tongue, on everything possible, since I was happy with my equipment. Or so I thought. I bought a better battery, but only cause I wanted it to last all day without recharging. So now I have like 20 disposable CE4 and CE5. Liked the CE5 much better than the CE4. hmmmm. Maybe, just maybe the equipment stories you see on this awesome forum have a hint of truth and right to them? So I went to the vape shop. Talked a bit. Then she sold me a vision x.jet spider. I took it home, filled it with halo juice. And.......?
The heavens opened and the angels sang!! Immediately bought another one, ran to my friends house, who had just gotten a shipment in from the vape duds, and she was ok with the flavors, but not as over the moon as the reviews said. We took some juice that she had in a cheapo and tried it, and then tried it in a spider. Again, angels singing.
What is the point of this story? If you are new to vaping, and are ok with your setup, still try other stuff. It helps. If you are too cheap, like me, to buy the expensive stuff, you don't have to. There is stuff out there that does not require a degree in engineering in order to rebuild, or do your own coils, etc. But for your own happiness, and for your own success in the vaping world, do upgrade if you can afford it. I did not believe it, and I was too cheap to try. I do not have the hundreds of dollars worth of equipment. My batteries were under twenty bucks, and my spiders were $15 at the shop, and the following ones were under $7, ordered from sweet-vapes. I am at this point happy again, I am enjoying my journey. I don't smoke, that's the most important thing. I do believe that there is even better equipment out there. And maybe I will try something else. Maybe I will stay where I am at. It works for now. I am still working on what flavor mix I like the best. more pg? more vg? I will find out....
Back to the point. The bottom of the line might be the most affordable. But if you have any doubts, do try the next step up. It DOES make a difference. I don't get anything from the companies mentioned above. I didn't even get a free sample, or a coupon or a discount. That is not my point. All I wanted to say was that equipment makes a difference. Even if I did not believe it.

Welcome to ECF and that's undoubtedly true. The flavor and vapor difference from switching to a CE4 clearo with a fixed voltage battery to my current Kanger Aerotank with a VV Spinner II was simply ridiculous. Total costs? 55 euros including some good juice. You don't need to make a huge investment for huge improvements. And it only gets better when you're ready to move up to rebuildables with cotton wicking material.

I still have a hard time explaining to the husband that I save money vaping vs. smoking....
You generally do. I spend less than 100 euros on juice per month. Back when I smoked 1 pack per day, the monthly cost was around 200 euros per month. That's 100 euros per month saved minus a few euros on coil costs. The difference is clear to me, and heavier smokers save even more!

However, I'm buying new devices fairly regularly, so if you add that up this hobby is costing me more money than it saves. But I don't mind. It's a hobby. It's fun, interesting, healthier and above all, absolutely delicious!
