I'm a 51 year old male who smoked for over 20 years. My doctor helped me to quit smoking several years ago, but I have always had that craving to start again. I have a friend in canada who was pretty excited about vaping and kept talking to me about it. He told me about his box type, tank and nic. He also told me about the 0 nic which is great for me as it solves my craving of smoking without getting hooked again.

Once I decided to try it I started doing research. My friend was a big help as well as this forum, google, and youtube. I knew from my research that the store bought e cigs weren't for me. I then looked at beginner kits, but couldn't find one with variable voltage/wattage and passthrough in my price range. I also checked out the cool mods, but I didn't want to go that far until I learned more and had more money. Through this process I looked at allot of ego batteries and the Innokin itaste vv v3.0 for $26 dollars was my choice. It has the passthrough, variable voltage/wattage and a lcd screen, so it met all my requirements. For those that don't know a passthrough allows me to plug the usb charging cable into my external powered usb hub and vape while charging. Great if you spend allot of time in front of the computer like I do.

My friend was allot of help when I started looking for a tank. He kept saying "buy a kanger", so I did. I bought the Kanger Protank 2 for a whopping $10 on sale. Now that I have used it for a week I found that I wanted to add an airflow valve and kanger had that as well. A great product and easy to use for a beginner like me.

As to e juice I don't get out much so I didn't listen to my friend when he told me to go to my local vape shop to try out the different flavors. The short version is I bought it online without trying it first and wasn't happy with the flavor so I made a trip to the local vape shop. I'm glad I did as the guy was very helpfull. He explained several reason why the flavor was weak, and showed me several of his flavors which were really good. I ended up buying a cherry/pineapple blend that is really tasty. Moral of the story is to hit up your local vape shop and try different flavors before buying. Oh, and the 15ml bottle cost me the same as a 10ml bottle online. Love saving money ;).

I now use my vape about 120 to 160 times a day and am loving it.

Congrats on making the transition. I've been mostly disappointed with online purchasing and have found getting to taste the different flavors in person is a much better way to tell if I'd like something. In my quest for the perfect green apple flavor, I found an article online about the 3 most popular green apple flavors being ordered. I tried them all after reading their reviews and none of them seemed to hit the mark. Went to a couple of my locals and had the same problem but finally found one that really did make the grade. Since then I've been trying all my locals for new flavors and I've found quite a few good ones. If you have local shops with plenty of selection, it's worth the time to try them.

Congrats Wacko *waves*

I do the taste it thing too at the B&M's but some of the juices are just cheaper and just as good that I order online, I've found a lot of the vendors would send me a free sample when I placed an order, so whenever I've got one in I'll put a comment/note asking to try whatever it is I want..7th & Grand are the best, they'll send me a free 15ml sample of their goodies with an order.

most are really good about the free samples..that way you don't end up with a lot of expensive OMG why'd I buy this crap in the steep box *lol*
