A Niceville man is out of the hospital after his electronic cigarette exploded in his face two days ago.

Friends say the blast knocked out tom Holloway's teeth, and burned his face.

He was taken to USA Burn Center and has been discharged.
Today Okaloosa County Public Safety released the 911- call from Holloway's wife.

"My husband was smoking a, an electric cigar, I don't know if you've ever seen those before but it blew up in his face (sobs) His face is all blown up, he's bleeding."

The force of the explosion destroyed the device so investigators couldn't tell the brand of the cigarette or the battery.

They hope to interview Holloway about what happened in the next few days.

Video at the link. I wonder if this is the same story as the one Nikkita6 posted a few weeks ago?

I have seen the term "E-Cigar" used in other stories. The only one who can shed light on all the details is currently not saying much I would imagine. Here's to hoping he comes out of this in the best possible way but until he explains what he was using the speculation will be rampant. Already various media are showing pics of all sorts of slims which will also mislead many into thinking any e-cig is a ticking time bomb. How very unfortunate for everyone.

Again, my best wishes to the poor sod and for his family.

Eh it'll be ok, remember the same people spent ~6hrs talking about a hole in the ground a deposed dictator was hiding in. Complete with CGI renderings XD

Real sad thing is that if the feds on both sides would just work with industry rather than against it (on both sides of the 49th) tragedies like this could be averted, or at least minimized.

Can spend a lot of time on 'could have beens' though, and wherever there's any form of stored energy there's a risk.

Thread here about it. I don't believe it's the same guy though, this is a recent incident from this past Monday apparently, either an E-cigar or eGo or something of that caliber.

...hmm... it really seems like the same story. All the details are identical. The story broke on Monday - but many of them say that he was already out of hospital or scheduled for release after being treated in a special burn center (in Alabama - where he was transferred from Florida).
