Hello Everyone,

I am new here since the 1st of this month, I have been reading a lot of users post and also the information site and still am not able to get the answers that I need. All the terms are confusing to me.

I started vaping the end of July this year. At first I started out with a smok ego with regular carto, since it kept breaking as in the wires would snap or the button would not work to turn off or to vape. I then purchased a SMOK eGo Winder. At first things seemed to be going okay(not the greatest) I kept loosing flavor, had to change the cartos that now are the SR cartos and switching them every 2 days since it would get the burnt taste or would have to toss since it became so flooded in the carto and no matter what I did nothing cleared it and the local shop couldnt either. I had been doing very well on not using analogs but within the last week or so I have gone back to them more since I cannot figure out this other stuff.

So what I am trying to get help with are the following:

What is the best Ego or charger mod that is good? What is the wick like to use? Better flavor or carto is better? Better tank? Something that would be more durable since the SMOK i have seems to be poorly made. I have attached the photos of what I current have.

Sorry for the length..but I am about ready to give up and I dont want to since this is the first time in 21 yrs of smoking analogs that I have felt any sort of hope.

im very happy with my vision spinner from altsmoke.com
it is ego/510 connected.
i'm still experimenting with the tanks that i like.
so far the kanger t4 (yes small)
and evods are doing me good with no problems.
i also have i clear 16's that i use on them with no issues.

on the cartos make sure you are filling them too full.
i learned that the hard way, and make sure they don't get too empty.

I'm new. so i can only tell advise off my experience.
i've been at this a month as well.

I am currently waiting on the i taste vv3 10s kit... i like the reviews on it.

but i am about to buy another vision spinner from altsmoke. mine is 1300 and like it enough to get another one.

also when your clearos taste bad soak them over night in vodka after a gentle rinsing.
then rinse and air dry an hour or two.

that got rid of a lot of issues for me.

good luck.

I don't have much experience but I haven't had any trouble with my Evod's that learning to rewick the coils hasn't fixed. Rinse and dry burn the coils as needed, when they wont come clean just rewick.

Starter kit came with 2 complete rigs, 5 pk of coils and a charger. I usually get a full day off 1 battery.

If you do break the attached plastic tip with a drop (I haven't yet and have them roll off my desk a few times) the Evod tank is cheap to replace.

Mini protank 2 looks nice on them if you like tank cracking juice.

Ok, you have a carto tank setup there. If Baditude catches this he might be able to give you some advice about cartos. For me - cartos are a pain and yes - a "not good" carto can crap out on you in only two days.

To get your frustration level down pick up anything in a Kanger bottom coil clearomizer. That could be a T3s, MT3s, EVOD or a ProTank. It's all variation on a similar theme - they all use a coil at the bottom of the clearo and there is no filler involved. Fill it & vape - no priming required. If you can see liquid in there they just work. Flooding accidents aren't as likely. Any of these models - except the ProTank - will cost an average of $6.00 to try out. No battery upgrade needed. Any of these models could get you through an entire day of vaping before you need to refill.

Just my humble opinion here but it sounds like you need more experience.

First, power level is huge. I run my stuff at 8 watts. Here 25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9dkanCt0I1qc8949o2_1280.png is a good chart that can help. I use/used that type of battery and it works fine, but I was running them too high.

Second, I use Boge XL LR cartos in Smoktech pyrex DCTs and an IBTanked. I was burning them, until I was told about the 'condom method' of filling them. Been using it and no more burning. Make sure that you thoroughly saturate them before you use them. When you think they are full, let them sit for 15-30 minutes and repeat the process one more time. The suck up a lot of fluid.

Third, make sure that your fluid is mostly clear. I burn them every time if my fluid is too dark. My rule of thumb, if I can't see text through the bottle, I run it through a Protank 2 or RSST rebuildable.

Finally, vaping is not an intuitive process. There is a learning curve. Baditude has a terrific article about cartos here and there are terrific videos on Youtube that helped me immensely. Good luck, don't give up and have fun!

I started about the same time you did but I started with an EVOD tank and i16 clearomizer on ego twist batteries. I wouldn't even look at cartomizers or cartridges because of a very bad and $100 wasted first experience with some of the early e-cigarettes in 2008.

I don't know what kind of juice you're using but the darker, sweeter, thicker juice will gunk up any type of system faster. I agree that an EVOD, Protank, Davide or similar bottom coil unit is easier to maintain and keep working longer. I keep 3 heads full with different flavors and swap out all day long. I put the coils in a vodka bath every Saturday for at least an hour and put the coils from the previous week back in. To date, I have only had to put one coil in the "maybe I'll try rebuilding" box--the original EVOD coil. I killed my iClear 16 by running it non-stop for 6 weeks with an apple cinnamon mixture and then trying to boil it back to life but 6 weeks is way past its shelf life anyway. I do admit that some of my other well used coils should be retired soon as they just aren't producing as much as a new coil.

Also, your style of vaping may cause poor wicking performance. Long slow draws keep the wick (or filler in a carto) saturated better than short quick draws.

When I switched to the kanger protank I had much more ease of use and vape satisfaction than when I was using ce5 clearo's and the vivi nova's though I've had some flood issues with them recently I believe it's because I've been overfilling them, since I've been watching how much I fill them I've had no flood touch wood. Also getting myself a vamo vv/vw mod was great because I could adjust the wattage to get the best out of my juice, I've since got myself a zmax but the vamo worked just fine - a vv spinner should do the trick for you if you didn't want to fork out on a mod to see if it gave you an improved vape.

It seems like the most reputable manufacturers of ego type batteries and/or systems are Joye (Joyetech), Kanger (Kangertech) and Vision. As with all electronics, you can get a lemon, but it seems most people find these reliable. Watch out, as there are a lot of clones out there that may be cheaper but may also be less reliable.

the Aspire Vivi Nova BDC Tank seems to be the hot tank to get this week. Almost tempted to get one, but am strongly into rba's now. This tank is suppose to put the protank to shame. Dual bottom coils, replaceable head, $10. Should make an ego shine if anything can. Good luck, finding the right atomizer is half the battle.

Hey

I totally quit analogs 2 years ago thanks to ecigs....Number one for health and number2 for economy.
It costs me a total of about $10 a month...for everything. Mix my own juice...rebuild my own atomizers...

I currently use Genuine Kanger evod...love it. I got a evod starter kit from VaporAuthority for $40. Two complete units and chargers.
I also got a Variable Volt. (VV) little unit from VaporKings...not a battery....just usb passthrough...awsome...saves batteries when Im home or evn in car with adapter. $15

Good Luck

i am using SLB ego vv (passthrough) with protank. i think you can get a decent eGo and a protank ii for under 60 if you shop around.

dont give up dude. With the heads for protanks being around a buck... I swap them out every 3 weeks or so. keeping them in a jar until I have an army to rebuild.

as for the eGo.. maybe you can step it up to a mod/mech.. im sure those will last you a bit longer.

Have been very happy with my halo triton setup. Only complaint is plastic tip breaks easily if dropped and halo does not yet offer tip replacements for sale. When I break a tip I have to buy a new tank:(

I'm pretty sure the tip for the kanger t2 will work and you can find those replacements.

If you truly want to be free of cigarettes...... you'll just find a way to make it work. You can find all the information you need right here from some of the greatest folks I've ever met. I am still real new and still trying to find what is gonna work for me but I will say that Fasttech is a great starting point. I have been so pleased with what I have gotten from them. It's easy to get frustrated and let's face it.... it is all a little overwhelming at times. Just continue to read and ask questions. There will be someone here to answer everything and believe me, you'll get all the support without judgement, that you need. Good luck to you and glad you found this forum. Hope to read your future posts about how well you are doing and probably answer some of my questions. heehee
