I'm not new or well I'm not very new anyhow. I just didn't really know where to put this. I've been vaping since Oct. 31, 2010 and this is the first time that I've been really frustrated with vaping. I started out on a Titan 510 from Totally Wicked and about 2 months in, I upgraded to a Vgo which is what I am currently using. A few months ago I replaced my batteries and bought 3 atomizers at the same time. Everything was going really great until this week. I noticed that I was not getting much vapor at all so I blew out the atomizer and went to use it again, still not much and I never had anywhere near the amount that I've seen others getting during video reviews with a Vgo. I've been using the atomizer for maybe 2-3 weeks so I changed it out for one of the new ones except that 2 of the 3 atomizers I bought don't work on some of my batteries (all 510), but they seem to pick and choose which batteries they want to work with and are very inconsistent.

I have no idea if I need to upgrade to a model that is known for performing consistently or if I just have to find better, more consistent atomizers that will last me longer than a few weeks. I did try an Ego-T about 5 months ago and wasn't happy with that at all. I drip usually and am very happy with that method.

Vapor production is more important to me than TH. I like when I can get enough vapor production that feels full (if that makes any sense) with some TH, but definitely not so much TH to cause irritation. I also don't need so much vapor that causes it to come out my nose when I vape. I just need the same amount of vapor that would equal the amount of smoke I'd get from an analog. I was thinking of trying out cartos, but am afraid that I'd get the same or similar results as my experience with the tank system. I do like that I don't have to recharge my Vgo batteries as often as I did with the Titan (180 mAh batteries). I'm also pretty much a chain vaper and was thinking that perhaps I chain vape because I'm not getting as much satisfaction out of it as I could be getting. I am totally open to an upgrade, but don't want to spend over $100 on a fancy mod yet. Especially with Christmas coming rapidly upon me. I'm open to pretty much any suggestions that you guys have. :)

What aromizers- what brand and ohms
'
What juice - what PG/VG

The more VG the more vapor but it needs to be thin enough to flow at least as fast as you vape it. And I avoid all opaque or cloudy juices - those generally drop flavoring sediment which gunks up cartos and atty coils fast. And you need to buy decent atomizers and keep them clean.

i have the type b ego-t with lr atomizers and always found the vapor production and flavor to be pretty good but they do require a bit of a hassle to keep clean. cartomizers will probably give you a bit more throat hit and a pretty good vapor production.. honestly it's something i'd try when you can find a 5 pack of boges for less than $10.

+1 on all the advice you've been given. I've been vaping almost 6 months - I'll add my two cents. Quality atomizers and cartos - key. If you vape a LR carto at 3.7 it gives you a warmer vape, and a lil more VG = larger plumes of vapor. I started on an 808kit that came with a 5v pass-thru - moved into Riva's at 650 mah and around this time noticed I liked my 5v pass-thru MORE - disliked being connected to something. Got a Riva 1100 mah - LOVED it - until it crapped out 60 days later. (Still love that Riva - one of them still works). Anything under 650 mah - LR cartos and stuff burn up quickly IMO. I read alot here and the problem with Egos and Riva's (they are so alike if you ask me) is the life span of the PV - they just quit performing. So, even though you only spent $35-$50 - if you replace 2-3x a year. After my experience, I highly recommend a variable volt device. Lots of them out there under $100. Maxi Roughstacks, Lava Tubes, Bombshell, and for around $120 - Buzz Pro, Infinity - Indulgence - just to name a few. Once you're into something that takes a 18650 battery (and quite a few other batteries)- you can vape from 3.7 to 6v in increments and it makes all the diff in the world. If you get 2 good AW batteries for your PV - you're set for rotation. For me the best quality in cartos and atomizers - Smok Tech and Boge products - very nice. I prefer Smok Tech DC clearos and cartos - and with carto's the flav is a lil more muted, so on these I go with stronger flavored juices. Just my two cents - hope it helps! Good Luck on your search

Thanks everyone for the help and ideas you've given me to try. I'm currently using regular (not LR) attys. I assume they are just standard attys and the ohms aren't included on the suppliers website where I purchased them from so I honestly have no idea what that number would be on these. It does seem like I am getting too much airflow with these and feels a lot like just sucking air through a straw.

As far as juice goes, I'm currently using 80/20 PG/VG juice. It's what I first started out on and then I switched to 100% VG juice that I mixed myself. The flavor concentrates that I used probably had some amount of PG in them though. I did find that I wasn't getting enough TH with these juices though so I went back to pre-mixed 80/20 juice again.

I did order some cartos and LR attys (1.7 ohms) since I found a few black friday sales going on. I am worried about the fact that my Vgo has a 900 mAh battery and some of the LR attys mention something about using them with devices that are 450 mAh. Does that mean I'm going to blow it out? I figure I'll give these a try before totally throwing in the towel.

I have been looking at information on variable voltage devices, but there are just so many out there that I almost feel like a newbie all over again lol

Serenity I will agree with the post from blue, though all the other posts have validity to them as well. My experience after going through 3 or 4 iterations of pv's brought me to a variable voltage box on a whim. It has been the best thing for me. I don't have to worry about the carto ohms or small differences in manufacturers, etc. I just dial it in to provide me whatever it is I am looking for, taste, warmth, th, whatever.

You can find variable voltage devices in all price ranges. I bought the madvapes one, about 40bucks, because I didn't want to spend a lot and then find out it didn't work for me. I figured if it did work then I could move up to fancier, prettier, whatever ones, at a later time. I am totally satisfied with my purchase and I already had a charger and batteries that I had bought for other stuff so for me it has been a win win.

Good luck in your search for a solution. Just my 2 cents and I hope it helps and not just adds more frustration to the smorgasbord of information overload out there.

The mAh of your battery is just a time indication of how long it will last between charges, nothing to do with voltage. You'll be fine running the 1.7ohm on your 900mAh batteries. :) Most vendors will suggest not using the LR attys/cartos on anything lower in mAh than 450. You're good. I think you made a wise choice. If that doesn't do it for you, I'm going to suggest you try 5v or VV with 3ohm Boges. You may very well be completely happy with the 1.7's on the 3.7v batts though, and that would rock for you. :)

Unfortunately atomizers are all different, some just are total crap even new, buy a lot more to make sure you have some that are pretty good. greenhouseone has good prices, last time I bought 40 atomizers, I still have 16 of them and around 10 of them are still very good. And that was 7 months ago so it's not that pricey in the long term.

I just ordered last week an 8$ atomizer for a test and it's not working very good, it happens.
