Ok, so I think I need some pointers here, because something isn't going right.

To give some background, I started off w/ a Bloog back in Sept. I liked it pretty well (still do like it), but the battery just didn't last that long. So last week I received my new Kgo kit w/ 510 cartos. Now I've never had an issue filling a carto before (I use the condom method and then top off w/ a few drops on top), but these 510s are driving me nuts.

So far I've only filled three of my 15 empty cartos (Boge 510 SR) and I refuse to fill any more until I figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've read a lot of posts and seen a lot of videos that claim you should easily be able to get at least a few hrs of solid vaping out of a full 510 carto, but I'm lucky to get 20-30 min before I start to get that burnt taste and the carto becomes visibly white/dried out. Even more frustrating, I grabbed one of my few remaining Bloog pre-filled cartos tonight before I went out and after a few hrs of pretty solid vaping, the thing is still hitting pretty solidly.

The two main juices I've been using are JuicyVapes French Toast and Copper Creek's House Blend. I do notice that these two juices seem a bit darker/thicker than some others I've used, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do w/ my problem. All I know is that when I fill the carto to the point that it looks slushy on top and liquid is also leaking out of the threaded end for a bit after the fill, it should last a lot longer than 20-30 min of vaping. Or at least I would think that it should. What am I missing here?

Are you counting how many drops you're putting in the condom? Just because it comes out the top doesn't always mean it's full. sometimes when doing the condom method, the juice goes through that hole in the middle and comes out the top. people assume that, since they see juice it must be full. Also, what is the PG/VG ratio? If you have a high VG content that could be your problem. VG can work in cartos. The problem is, It's thick so it take longer to soak down to the bottom where the heating element is in the carto. Make sure if you have a high VG you fill then let sit for a little while, then drip more down the side onto the foam. If it starts coming out the bottom, it's full.

I cringe when I read about people using the condom method to fill their cartos. Put 30 drops in the top with the bottom condom on. Let it sit for 5-15 minutes. Blow once or twice out the top, with the condom off, and vape. Simple.

Condom method wastes juice and might not even be filling your carto up all the way. And it's a mess.

Yeah, I count the drops and also make sure the condom is at least a bit over half full. I make sure everything is absorbed and then let the carto sit for about 15min to soak in completely. That's part of why this is so frustrating. The French Toast juice I got is their "Reduced PG" recipe, so I'm guessing about a 70/30 or 60/40 mix. The CC House Blend is their standard 40/60 ratio.

How long are you letting it rest after you fill them before you vape? It's good to let them sit for 20-30 minutes to let the juice seep throughout the filler material to let it wick properly. Also, some people might get 2-3 hrs from one carto but, you have to remember to top it off. In addition, you should let it rest every 5-10 drags to let it re-wick. Which would be the perfect time to give them 5 drops/top it off.

Try that out and if you have anymore questions then please ask.

Great info here gang. I've been using separate attys and carts...ordered a couple packs of cartos..should be here in a day or two. Having not used them before, this is good information. Thinking to fill them via sides from the top, let it sit for 20 mins....come back top off...let them sit overnight, then in the morning should be good to go....might even shake them like a thermometer. :)

hi slovatish..U should try using a syringe and take away the guess work of filling yr carto..as U can judge the amount of e-liquid to pump in..this is what i do,a condom attached to the threaded end..then inject yr liquid at 30-45 degree angle..also keep an eye when the liquid break surface..that mean yr carto is soaked, rotate yr carto and do the same..when yr filler is done, fix a drip tip to yr carto and removed the condom..look at yr carto in light source(skylight or light-bulb)..and see through yr carto if the tunnel(centre hole) is block..if it is,blow out the excess liquid blocking yr tunnel from yr drip tip end into a tissue, repeat until u get to see a light at the end of the tunnel(if U dont and vape..vapor will be poor)..if U done that and using a suitable battery on yr right carto(LR carto 1.5 ohms requires 3.7V..around 2 ohms carto, 3.4V )..that is why i always recommend variable voltage batteries(eGo from 3.2 to 4.2V and lavatube 3 to 6V)..as they have the capacity to vape all LR & SD carto from 1.5 to 3 ohms)..hope U will find syringe method a better way to condom method..regards mafig
