Although I've only been actively participating on the ECF for a few days I've noticed there are a good number of people expressing various frustrations with vaping. I've also had my fair share of frustrations so I do empathize. However, I have also noticed with myself and others that vaping is and can be and should be enjoyable and even fun. For example, the anticipation of receiving your most recent vapor mail, the experimenting with new equipment or flavors, Discovering a new hobby, sharing your experiences with fellow vaporers or even strangers, being a member of the ECF community. And I'm sure there are all sorts of other enjoyable things just waiting to be discovered. But in contrast, when was smoking analogs relly fun? When was it ever enjoyable having yourself, your clothes, or car, or home, or maybe your kids or pets smelling like stale smoke or a dirty ashtray? When was cancer , emphasima (sp), yellow teeth or bad breath ever been enjoyable? I just wanted to share some of the things I try to think about when frustration tries to set in. I hope to encourage those of you who are finding or may find yourself being frustrated with vaping. Hang in there, stick with it, think positive, have Fun.

Hello Fisheeboy! You're absolutely right! After a while, in my opinion anyway, the frustration lessens. Vaping takes more tinkering & fiddling around than smoking. With smoking all we had to do was take one out of the pack & light it up. There's also a phase of trial & error when trying to find the right delivery method, juice or mod. And in today's society everyone wants the quick & easy solution for everything. But for those of us who stick with it, the good certainly begins to outweigh the frustration. It just takes time. I don't miss any of the things you've mentioned! Ugggh! Especially the smell!

Happy Vaping:vapor:

All good points. We're Americans. We'll find something to whine about in every situation. But overall, this is a tremendous upgrade, right? We've traded something deadly and unsustainable for something enjoyable that can last as long as you'd like it to, maybe forever. It's hard to be upset about that.

It is an outstanding upgrade! Sucks that I live in a small town where it seems like I'm the only one really into this. I'm always trying to convince people to at least try it. I hope it becomes more popular here in my little town

It was knowing what I smelled like and knowing that everyone else was smelling it too that finally pushed me to the point of saying to heck with these gross things I want to smell pretty for a change lol

I know what you mean. About 2 weeks in I was lounging around laying on my couch & it hit me! What the heck is that smell!! Gross! Did I really smell like that & not know it. And my poor animals! After that I treated my couches to a good steam cleaning & the cat & dog to a grooming session. If I got to smell good then they did too! Next I tackled the car & had a good detail cleaning job done on it. Now you can only smell whatever delicious flavor I'm vaping away on:D

:laugh:I can so relate to all of that. It was so nice the other day when my mom got in my car and said "I love how your car always smells so good" I had just taken a couple of puffs of vapor before she had got in. I siad to her "yeah especially now that I quit smoking in it." I love it that I no longer assault other people's noses.

Yes! It's definetly an amazing feeling! Especially considering that I was happy smoking & thought I'd never quit. Now vaping has lead me to a whole other list of things I never thought I'd do but I've surprised myself & done them all. I'd said no DIY, no mechs, no RBA's & RDA's. Now I've done it all & I enjoy it! There's no doubt that this is not only a life saver for me but now it's a hobby! No one I know around here really gets it...not even my boyfriend but I think they tolerate me because they're so happy I made the switch. Close to the end of my smoking I was up to atleast a carton of Newports a week & it was only getting worse. Thank goodness I found this place!

That's so awesome and so encouraging. what a wonderful testimony. I'm getting more and more excited about trying my hand at all the diy stuff, mods, all that stuff. I love this forum. It has SO much info and so many supportive people with similar interests and goals and experiences. I can't begin to describe all the inrichments that switching to vaporizing has brought to my life. I just love everything about it. even the trial and error.

I just really want to encourage others to stick with it. Celebrate the benefits. Have fun. Seek support and advice.

And that's exactly why I still come here nearly everyday...to pay it forward!
Glad to have you aboard & I look forward to seeing you around:toast:

There's definitely a learning curve involved with this. Plenty of good information here on the forum and great members to help you along the way. At some point we ultimately find our vaping nirvana. Then it's time to Pay It Forward and help the newcomers find their way.

I couldn't agree more. that's what motivated me to start this thread. I had to share the encouragement that I've received.

i had some frustration when i started vaping i was expecting something as my gear to perform better..well all vape gear is not equal..
before i came to the ECF i only had one b&m to go to and the staff that mutters the words I DONT KNOW really annoyed me so i became more informed ..here.. when you go in and have a new carto primed cuz your not sure exactly how to do it and the staff guy burns the coil up its time for change..vaping does require some tinkering to keep you gear performing..i make my own coils and make MOST of my own juice i do like to get a store bought juice now n then. even now i want better gear like a russian 91 i am frustrated i cant get one yet as they are not in stock..frustration.. but some day im gettin one
anyways keep at it and inform your self and the frustration will go away
