I've been vaping for about 9 months now-started with 901, switched to 510 for better vapor production.

I really love vaping and am so thankful to have found out about e-cigs. However, there are times, especially lately, that I don't feel like dealing with dead batteries, dirty/flooded atomizers, poor vapor production, etc...and just want to light a dam cigarrette!

I think my problem may be due to the fact that I drip....I don't like messing with the batting, and dripping is much easier for me. But I know it destroys atomizers quickly. So with that in mind, I again am thinking of trying cartomizers. I just wonder if the vapor production is comparable to a 510? (when it is working fine that is, lol)

I hate to invest more money in something and not be satisfied. I vape a LOT so need something that can handle that as well.

I was thinking of getting a regular size manual. Are there any differences in vapor production, throat hit, in the different sized batteries?

Any other tips on making a decision? (I have read thru the forum, but mostly see how-tos. Not too many opinion videos/threads so if someone can point me to those I'd appreciate as well)

Thanks so much!
Kathy

Hi Kathy!

The batteries are as follows:

Shorties: 180 Mah
Regular: 280 Mah
XLong: 380 Mah

The Mah means how long they can keep a charge, however if you ask me, the higher the Mah, the higher the throat hit for me. Also a slight change in Vapor production too.

For a new person using the model, a regular sized manual is a nice choice, and I don't think you'd be unhappy with it.

As for vapor production, you will probably get more on your 510, but when you take into account the V4L actual vapor production plus ease of use, it's not a deal breaker. I prefer my V4L products much more than my 510.

You might also consider simply getting a 510-901 adapter for your 510 batteries. That way you can try cartomizers at a highly reduced cost.

Personally, a regular sized manual is a very nice introduction to the model.

Try the premium cartomizers, they produce clouds of vapor. I personally prefer the manual XL batteries because they hold such a long charge, and produce slightly more vapor and throat hit as bornagainst said.

If you are tired of dead batteries, this may be the right choice for you.

But in the end it is all about personal preference, my advice is to give it a try, ya got nothing to loose :) Good luck

Kathy,

I too was a disgruntled 510 user. Yeah, when it was working, I loved it. But with all the times I had to deal with flooded atties, leaking cartridges, wasted liquid, different foams/materials...I just got to where it wasn't fun "tinkering" anymore. It was a full-time job. And sometimes I just wanted to pick the thing up & enjoy a nice vape.

So I tried a Vapor King. I can tell you that there are times when I'm getting great throat hit & great flavor...but the vapor is a little less than what I'd like (this is usually on cartos that I've filled myself -- I'm not quite so good at that yet). But most of the time, with the cartos I've gotten from V4L, I feel like the vape is just as good (or really close) to the vape I used to get from my 510.

But most of all...I absolutely LOVE the convenience. It is just no nice...when I want to vape now, my hardest decision is "what flavor do I want right now?" Once I'm past that milestone, it's all just nice enjoyable vaping.

And one other thing...it is really nice having ONE place where I can buy all of my supplies/accessories and KNOW they are all going to be compatible. It's even nicer knowing that my "1-stop shop" has better customer service that any other supplier I've ever dealt with. V4L will seriously take care of you. They are very fair & very fast.

I turned to v4L about a month ago, and now I wish I had found them long before I ever touched a 510. I would have saved SO much money, time, and aggravation.

I have recently turned a few relatives onto V4L products. Just yesterday I gave 2 family members a good supply of V4L gear to get them started. IMMEDIATELY, they were blown away. They never knew vaping could be so enjoyable, yet simple.

I think you made a wise choice.... I use mods but my wife is loving her VK...

The cartos are great and last her quite a while, from what I can see, she is getting very good vapor production from the shorties she is using.... Refilling the cartos has got to be the easiest thing I have ever seen..... (condom method)

She vapes 11mg and smoked Mbro lights before vaping...

Enjoy that VK.... I know my wife is loving hers...

I have used both Kathy, have the 510, along with a few other mods, I don't drip, think that is when you don't use a cartomizer or a cart, hope I'm right, what I am getting at, I find the cartomizers head over tea kettle better than the carts with the filler, I can vape all day with my 808, or the V4L, just carring the extra batts, and the one full carto. If you vape alot then carry an extra cartomizer, and they are so easy to fill, using the techn. posted in this forum. One thing I have done that I don't see mentioned, but it may be somewhere, just tap the end of the carto the batt end on a towel which is on a hard surface, you will notice a lot of gunk come loose. Hope this helps.

Very impressed! I got mine in the mail already, have my 2 batteries charging (8 hours right?) and just hooked up my passthrough to a coffee cart-so easy!

And my verdict is--this is exactly what I would want in an e-cig-the vapor and flavor is awesome....for the first time in months I feel like I am actually getting a slight buzz from the nicotine (which I want!). Hopefully the regular batteries work just as well.

So know the only thing I will need to figure out is how long a cartomizer will last me personally-and reading up on the different refilling methods.

I tell ya this has made my day-even taking my mind off the fact that I may be out of work soon....thanks so much VFL for the great service and little extras you threw in!

Oh yeah-now I think I can get rid of the spare 901 stuff I was keeping for emergency...I believe my V4L has taken top place and the 501 will be for occasional usage. Thanks again!

As Henrid noted: Vape away. No minimum charge time with this chemistry. You're free to partial charge/partial discharge on a whim. There is no memory that would be noticeable over the intended service life of these devices. [I'm being technically accurate at the risk of being wishy-washy. The practical summary is: "GO!" ]

Hey now, some of us nerds actually care about the wishy washy.

Suppose I should just go read wiki on lithium ions....

Now when people say "practical life", are we talking around a year?

Thanks!
