Fuchai 213 dead?

Well, I think my Fuchai 213 may be dead -- As of this morning, when I put new batteries in the screen just says "restore defaults" and doesn't respond to pressing any of the buttons. Not sure what the ddeal is, but if anyone has dealt with this before feel free to chime in.

It looks like there is much info on this problem on Google, if you wish. Might be quicker.

Try this arcane trick from the manual.

Open battery door.

Press and hold "-" button.

Close battery door.

Release "-" button.

If the system lives, it should reboot, If it does not... well...

Upon further investigation, it seems like the "-" button is shorted, the few times I've gotten it to power on responsively, the wattage just plummets untill it hits the minimum, then it stops doing anything. Interesting since it wasn't dropped, submerged, or otherwise maligned.

I have two Fuchai 213s - both suffer from intermittent battery contact. The battery door design is also poor. Both units crapped out after less than 6 months.
