So I do what I can, daily call to action, commenting on news articles, patiently educating people when they ask questions, etc. The problem is that that is only reaching a small amount of people and there is but so many hours in a day the majority of which are taken up with work family and sleep. So after listening to Click Bang this week I began to wonder how we could get money flowing and the best way to do this is a large scale fundraising trough vendors.

Please stick with me because I know that there are a bunch of folks out there that will call me crazy.

I see two viable options:

1: Contact all the vendors we can and ask them to all add $1.00 to every order for a week with all proceeds going to CASAA. The should advertise this in big bold letters on the front page of their sites with links to CASAA, pending legislation, and the latest and greatest info on FDA plans. The reason I think this should be advertised is twofold, first is to obviously inform the customer base, as I imagine the average vaper (and those of you reading this are not the average) has no idea about what may be happening to our community. Secondly it gives people the option to opt out by placing their orders before or after a fundraising drive.

The next option is something that can be done in lieu of or in addition to the first suggestion.

2: Simply add a check box at the order screen asking people it the would like to donate 1-3-or 5 dollars to CASAA and links with the same information posed in suggestion one.

I would think that someone smarter than I can come up with coding to have the funds be delivered to CASAA in the least PITA manner possible and it would be a great way to inform a greater audience and build the army it is going to take to keep out community alive and well.

The other thing I was thinking about and I am well aware that this is tantamount to heresy is are we working with big tobacco on this or if not why not.

Think about this, the tobacco used for nicotine extract in e-liquid is mostly grown in India and other countries in that region, it produces much more extractable nicotine than that of the tobacco grown in the states, and is done so cheeper. They can grow it here and rake in the cash, much much more than they make on analogs. They are the only ones that currently have the pockets deep enough to fight the FDA and if they just sunk the most minuscule fraction of their R&D funding into e-liquid they can make the best, safest, and least expensive liquid in the world. They would already have the lab space to do it and instead of a client base that is dropping dead because of their product they would have clients living longer and therefor spending more money on their product.

I know that this is a double edged sword because the last thing I want is to only have 3 or 4 e-liquid choices out there but even if they just started making the nicotine base and others used that instead of what is now imported to make the liquid we all now use would be a step in the right direction. Think about it, not a month goes by when you don't hear about a contaminated this or that coming out of China. Lets bring this to the home front and have it made here, inspected, even regulated a little bit, hell they can even tax the nicotine base ( at a fractional rate of what they tax analogs at) and then the gov't can recoup some of the taxes they will lose from the drop in sales of analogs, and that is something I think everyone can agree is a good thing.

Ok I am done, love the idea or hate it its what I came up with because we all need to do something, because if we don't the results will be disastrous.
