Hi,

I bought the fuse protector for the GGTS. Can someone explain how you know if you have a short-circuit and what it does to the springs inside the fuse protector cap. It's just I had a fully charged 18650 3.7v Ultrafire, took a few vapes then it stopped working. I put it back on charge to see if it had drained and the red charging light came on again. I left it until the light went green (approx. 30 mins.). It then worked in GGTS, however, I then checked the spring in the fuse protector. It has turned a bit black and not as coiled as when I first put it in, ie. stretched in size. Can someone help????????!!!!!! Cheers.

A short happened my friend Dig. Spring is sensitive enough to understand those shorts. Battery discharged a little. That happened from a damaged battery or from a damaged atty. You were smart enough to took off the battery before a bigger short happened. Spring is not in a very good contiton now but it still works. Let it like this, no problem.

Hi Imeo,

Are you saying the battery is damaged, as my GGTS is working fine now with that same battery and 901 atty. If a battery shorts is it ruined or can it be used again as normal once re-charged. I changed the spring fuse anyway, just in case. How do shorts happen as this was a brand new battery and only charged once before this happened. When it did happen the whole GGTS stopped working until I re-charged the battery. How do you know a short-circuit from a battery that has run out of charge?

Cheers Imeo

Were you using a 510 at the time?
No I was using a regular 901 atty, it's just confusing as to why it may have shorted when it had only had it's first charge straight out of the pack. I don't think it was atty as Imeo had suggested as I have two 18650 batteries and that one was fine until it ran out, then I used the second one charged ready to swap with. Any help, much appreciated.

Your best bet to be honest is throw the battery and the atty out... Don't take the chance of having a total melt down if it is the battery.... Write it off as a loss and buy a new one... The $12.00 for a new battery is better then having one blow up in your hand....

I may have done. If you have a short though does it ruin your battery or can you continue as normal?
