Quick question. I've got some fused claptons with kanthal as the core and ni80. Should i set my mod on tc since my coil contains ni80? Or am i good with just regular wattage?
Kanthal's the core, right? So you can't TC with that wire as (to the best of my understanding) it's the center wire that counts in reading temperature. Also, to the best of my understanding, ni80 is also a non TC wire. So you should use the build in wattage mode. For both reasons. Hope this helps.

It doesn't matter if your mod says you can do it. If the center CORE is kanthal, that is what will be heating up, so unless you have a Hohm Wrecker or something, which is the only mod series I know that claims to do TC on kanthal, well, if the core is kanthal, then you can't use it in TC.
Sorry.

Just use flat clapton wire, kanthal or SS. Good with flavor and smooth vapor. Ribbon 26/18 with 32 wrap is about 0.2Ohms 4wrap with kanthal A1, 3mm Ø. So with SS you can/must have more wraps to get the same Ohms
