Anybody have any idea where this 1 cartridge=50 cigarette nonsense came from? Unless I just vape too much, for me 1 cartridge equals 1, maybe 2 cigs. I consider each cartridge filling to be my "lighting a cig" and by God I'm using it until it's gone lol. Even for light smokers, I can see maybe only 4 cigs worth out of a cart at most.

I think it came from Smoking everywhere - but its wrong - 1 cigarette is nothing like 1 cart - 1 cart doesnt contain more than half the things one cig does, inc the amount of nic delivered to you or the same efficiency with which it delivers it (PV are about 3 times less efficient at delivering nic). vape on and don't worry about it.

I believe that these claims are not really lying so much as misleading.
And I mean very, very misleading.

I think what they might be doing is saying that a cartridge has as many milligrams (mg) of nicotine as a pack of cigarettes. So therefore if you ignore the possible fact that we absorb far less nicotine from using electronic cigarettes as compared to cigarettes, you can potentially say that a cartridge could equal a pack of cigarettes. Of course, that is only if you consider that you would have to be taking only like two drags off your electronic cigarette and pretending that you have just smoked a cigarette.

So yeah, if you only take around two drags every time you would normally have a cigarette, it may last as long as a pack. And if you absorbed about the same amount of nicotine from an electronic cigarette as you do from a real cigarette... well, then there you go!!

On some sites I've been to they refer to approximately 300 "puffs" or "mouthfulls" per cart/carto and assume 15 - 16 puffs per cigarette, so they say each cart/carto is the equivalent to 1 (or more) packs of cigarettes.

But even then it's doubtful you can get the 300 puffs per cart/carto even if you ignore the burnt taste towards the end.

I will agree, however, to the 15 - 16 puffs per cigarette. Toward the end of my smoking analog days I was lighting a cigarette 4 times and taking 4 puffs each time, which did equal 16 puffs per cigarette.
