I will be repairing my vv box. It is an okr based mod and other than the crappy tach switch it is actually almost bullet proof.

I was looking at the mini and o almost have my mind made up to get it as I would have to buy new batteries no mater what mod I go with. Plus it would look good with the gtus. At that price I will probably wrap it with a screen protector to keep it scratch free. :)

I couldn't think of a comparable mod other than the buzz so I thought I would see what other opinions where out there. I may also look at making a more robust pwm mod instead of the surface mount component ones I made.

I think pwm'ing high voltage actually vapes better than anything else. The only issue is that its not regulated so you have to constantly fiddle with thesetting.

Ok enough early morning rambling. Time to wake up.

.....

you won't have to.... I'd take a picture of mine and send it to you, but after a year and a half of abuse, running at High Voltage, and shorting it dozens of times out while getting my technique down oxidizing mesh, there's nothing to see. The only visible wear is that the Provari silk screen has all but rubbed/faded off. The thing is built like a Tank.

Ok for those out there that have a JAZZ pipe, here is somthing you can do for the GTUS....

I made this adapter for my Jazz pipe out of a old carto, I screwed the carto in until tight, marked the height where it would sit flush. Cut it to the right height, and soldered a wire from the male 510 center post to a female center post and pressed the female 510 adapter into the carto. The I drilled out a stock piece of aluminum 9.2mm and turned it down to .52" in diameter 1/2" long. I then presses the collar I just made onto the catro female end. I then drilled two hole in the collar so I could tighten and loosen the extension piece for removal. Well here is the result....

Hey Romaniac,
I'd be expecting a few extra orders of the Jazz Pipe from us future GTUS owners, if we can make the adapters easily enough.
Two great pieces of design that work wonderful together, with Raidy's amazing Genisis Atty.
Thats ultimate style vaping right there.
:)

Anybody have a recommendation for a commercial vv that will stand up to the sporadic mesh shorts with a better price point than than the provari but still having good quality?

The Lavatube...built-in circuit protection and half the price of a Provari. And if you draw over 2.5 amps it automatically down-regulates the voltage for you...the Provari just gives an error code. So you can set it at 6V and throw anything from a LR to 5ohm atty on it and it'll work safely without blowing anything...including our GTUS if you use it at LR with just a few coil wraps.

you lost the "with quality" part I used my Gtus on a buzz pro kicked ... until I thrashed the Gtus >.< it got runneded over by a car in the shop last week. The buzz pro just shuts off kinda if it detects a short. Think they are going for like $124 right now

Risking sensitive electronics mods on Genesis's seems a costly endeavour...we wrap our own coils?...wrap what resistance works for you on standard batt v and screw it onto something with some protected batts and have at er'...I always meter a new build, but even then, crap still happens, with this set-up the TF's just cut out on over current.

I agree with you on the lava tube, I have two and a Provari. I now use them instead of the Provari since 100% of my vaping is on ss wicks and as far as I can see the quality is in the results, it gives me as good if not better vapor than the Provari without the fear of popping the $200+ PV.
After more than 3 years of buying and trying just about everything new, I am back to keeping what works and not just what is most expensive. I recently sold 8 different rebuildable atty's and am staying with just the "Line" . 99% of my vaping is on VV PT mods and when I have to use a battery the Lava Tube , regular and mini work just fine.
