Thanks stat! Ive started with a little pinner but it was too loose in the coil. This onw I had to twist and twist to get it to fit and it was a good fit tight. I'll try splitting the difference to see how that does.

Come on vaping nirvana. ... I've reached you once and I'll find you again

Yep, split the difference. A hog legs' too much and pinner just ain't enough. I think your almost there :)

I rewrapped this morning with 8/9 wraps of 28 ga. Used a little larger gauge for the coil dia too. Measured out at 1.6 ohm. I think I did BETTER with the wick since I'm making nice clouds now (actually blinded myself a little driving to work) but could still use a little work because it takes a second for it to clear out after a squonking.

I appreciate all the advice!

Here are a couple pics of my latest. I think I might take 1 wrap off

Still too fick.

FYI: the ID (what you wrap around) makes a BIG difference in the vape. You may find you like it better with a bigger bore. But it's definitely going to fire slower and generate less heat that way.

I observe the same. Cotton is too thick. As dibby daddy says, drop that coil diameter to 1/16" and it'll make a big difference. That and lose about 1/2 of that cotton. :)

Nice build, Man! As you go lower, you can start thinking about enlarging the air hole. Not to rush things, but to consider. Everyone's different, and I used to like my air no bigger than 1.1 mm (basically, factory standard/largish). It took me getting down to about .6Ω with a micro coil; but at that point, opening it up to about 1.4mm really worked well. Better flavor, better vape. air flow needs to be proportional to coil intensity: but, like I said, that proportion is different for each person.

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Went to my local B&M to get some 28ga. Of course the genny guys were there building their stuff and I was a little embarrassed to pull out my REO that wasnt hitting that well cause I didnt want it to look bad.

Long story short, I took 1 wrap off and it helped a ton. They were all blown away by the "squonk".

2 things they were trying to get me to do:

1.) A 2 wrap of 28ga like they had on their gennys

2.) Twisted wire (twisted tight with a drill).

I didnt let them, but of course, got me thinking. The 2 wrap thing didnt seem right to me because isnt the whole point to get more surface area of coil to wick?

And what about the twisted wire? Anyone tried that on an RM2?

Havent done the twisted wire on RM2 yet but have on the era it definately gives more wrapsd to bring resistance up it lowers the resistance of the wire so more wire more surface area more vapor :)
