Gauge of a twisted wire??

Im planning on making a quadruple twisted 28 gauge wire for my rda. So my question is, if i twisted 4 strands of 28 gauge kanthal wire, what would the final gauge of the wire be??

Im guessing it would be 20 gauge total, correct me if im wrong, thanks!

There really is no way to tell. It totally depends on the twist of the wire, you could make a 4 strand of 28 and get .5 ohm per inch, I could do it and get 1 ohm per inch, someone else could do it and get 2 ohm per inch (just random figures for example) so there is no way to know.

word for the wise, make sure your posts can handle that thick of a wire before twisting. Also, a quad 28g coil is gonna be WAY less on the ohms dept. so be prepaied to have a massaivly long coil if your used to vaping anything from .6 and up... just food for thought...

Ya I'm well aware of all of that, I've been rebuilding for a while. I just wanted a general idea of what gauge it would have come out to

I think if I was to make a twisted wire coil ... I would just use (2ea) 32 AWG wire

Since your doubling the thickness of the wire, even that fine 32 gauge is going to be pretty thick once twisted together.

That will really depend on how tight you twist it. You'll really have to see how far you can push it to see how thin you can keep it.
Just remember, kanthal work hardens, meaning it becomes more fragile/prone to breakage the more you work with it, so I imagine the tighter you twist it the closer you will get to it's breaking point. I've twisted some kanthal a lot further than I thought it would go, but never had it break yet.

Imo quad twisted .28gk heat up time is crazy long. My exp. With it was at.4 ohm. Flavor was meh compaired to tripple twist(my fav, but hard on batteries)
