I am having an issue with my griffin 25. I know before anyone says it, it is a really old tank and should be binned but it is one of my favourites and I would like it to stay that way.
I am getting a burnt insulator taste along with a sizzling sound below the build deck and a bit of vape comes out the juice holes when I pull the wick and give it a dry burn.
If I pull the centre pin clean it out and rebuild it the thing works great again with no bad tast. A half a day to a day later and the taste is back again so I have to pull the pin again, clean, rebuild and good again.
It is like juice is getting down the centre pin and burning giving the fowl taste. I have tried to pull the insulator but can’t get that post out no matter what I try.
Any ideas at all besides retiring the old thing?
