No, not a big fan of red. Purple and gray. Need to find a couple gray doors for backups. Also have a dark leather and a couple of blacks.

@MidwestGuy You sound like me. Although I don't have the money to spend on 3 tanks at a time, and have to pick and choose what to get in limited quantities. Although if you are hating the Solomons I would be happy to help you get rid of one. -cough cough- BTW What part of Iowa are you from? I grew up in the Des Moines and Ames area and just moved to North Carolina last year to get away from all of the allergies.

Small world; I grew up in Des Moines / Pleasant Hill, and now live just NW of town in the Polk City/Ankeny area. :) I hear ya on the allergies ... come harvest time, I'm pretty miserable.

I think I have one of the Solomon's left, I'll let you know.

Funny. Born and raised in the NW corner of Ankeny (before the expansion west) so I know that neighborhood really well. Having said that, I had allergy issues for the entire time I lived there (37 years) for about 9 months out of the year. So when I could pick where I wanted to move, we decided on the east coast (Raleigh area). Really loving it out here, but I definitely miss friends and family that are still back home.

I finally ditched the smok Baby RBA. I finally got the wicking issues fixed, and it keeps shorting out due to a bad design. So now I am back to premade atomizers until the Zeus gets here.

I had no issues when using the BBB rba head. Maybe you got a dud.

The bottom post isn't seated solidly. So to fix it you have to take a hammer and pound it down. But the problem is it only works for a day or so, and then you have to do it again.

This is the fix. It works. Since I bought from ebay, there isn't a great return policy, and rather then busting my chops trying to get a new one I am just going to wait for the Zeus. Meanwhile I cleaned out my old atomizers (Everclear bath and hot water) and am reusing them until Zeus gets here.

I don't love the RBA deck on the BBB but never had the problem that you describe. There were probably some duds in a run - who knows? I would offer to send you an RBA deck but I think I sold all of my BBBs. If you are interested in an RBA deck, let me know and I will look to see if I have one around here. No charge if you want it provided I have one.

The Raleigh area of North Carolina is a great place to live. My oldest went to Duke so we spent a lot of time in that area. She isn't too far away now, near Fort Bragg.

The one who is the Army JAG officer is doing well. She and her brood will be heading to my house for Thanksgiving. The one with the weird skin problem on her legs is struggling but the doctor did say that the recovery time is slow. She basically has to grow a new layer of skin and it is painful. The good news is that we saw the doctor yesterday and she feels that Molly is making good progress, though slow.

I would love to try another RBA deck. Especially as I am doing all of this on my mod, and once I get everything figured out I have to purchase a second set of stuff for my wife. The Zeus seems like it will likely be my go to mod as I will be starting to travel for work next month, and a leakproof, top fill tank seems like it will be great for airplanes.

We are completely in love with this area. The weather is perfect, people are pretty open (no where near like in the Midwest, but still very nice), there is so much history, and the scenery is amazing.

So ... first impressions!

Pretty good ... still breaking in my first coil, but flavor right on par, just as good, maybe slightly better than the OBS Engine. I've got a bit of "dawn" flavor - the Zeus did need quite a bit of cleaning from the factory.

I'm using a ~3.1mm (9/64) ID 26GA stainless steel spaced coil at 8 wraps, coming in right at .61Ohms, with temperature control set at 460F. Steam engine heat flux number is 53.93. Wicking very well so far as well, with great vapor production, similar, nearly identical output of the OBS Engine (I run dual 28GA 11 wrap, same ID also right around .61 Ohms with heat flux of 42.66 in my Engines). On both I use KGD cotton, outer layers removed, pulled apart, rolled, and ends fluffed. With the cotton extended right after inserting in to the coil, I trimmed right at the edge of the deck... scissors resting against the base. The cotton, when saturated, is barely/slightly brushing the bottom inside of the base cap.

It took me 3 tries the first time to get the leg lengths right, as I'm used to building on velocity style decks. Now that I've got some practice in and know about how long to make the legs, next re-coil should go smoother. A little crackly on the initial fill, but smoothed out nicely over time. I also immediately replaced the included flathead grub screws with hex grub screws.

Using my favorite drip tip (stainless steel from my old Lemo IIs) and the included drip tip adapter, which works perfectly.

Anyway, will probably experiment a bit more with coils as I always do (might try a larger, ~4mm ID) since there is so much room for cotton in this thing, as this should get the coil closer to the air flow which, in my experience, always yields a bit better flavor. Will continue updating as I play around with it.

And now, some photos ...

I have got to go to bed. I have a full day of pie baking, and Thanksgiving prep to do tomorrow. I will leave you all with this - I think I actually want a Therion now. Do I understand correctly that you can change the color by changing the battery door? I do love my Mininkins but that Therion is the next step for me I think. I will see if anyone answers my question tomorrow.

You don’t want the therion. Battery sleds are poorly designed. That inside battery will tear up your wraps. Go with the paranormal. Essentially the therion improved with a great battery door. Also available with the dna 75c or the 166. Jmho.

I found one BBB RBA deck. It was used briefly but is perfect. PM me your name and address and I will pop it in the mail on Friday. A well-padded envelope should be quite sufficient. I am glad to pass it along to someone who will use it.

Thanks. I am still very undecided about going with a dna chip mod. EightVape has the Paranormal bundled with batteries (which aren't up to my standards thanks to @Mooch ) and a tank I have no interest in as a doorbuster for $149 - good deal for sure. I can wait. I appreciate the feedback. I do like the shape of the Therion more.
