It is a cheapie Chinese model called Areader? 75 W. Looks good and works fine. I've been surprised at how well it does.
No, they messed up the order and then I got side tracked with the Wotofo Bravo. You're waiting for the wrong one here. I'm extremely leery of bottom af. @Rixsta did you get the Kylin Mini yet?
So what do you think of the Bravo? Saw it wasn't well received by some. Would have thought they would have sent you the replacement mini by now.No, they messed up the order and then I got side tracked with the Wotofo Bravo.
Really? 3 - 4 wraps of 28g, maybe in a Protank coil head...
The Zeus's post holes are too far apart for a subohm 28g build, unless you are doing a triple parallel build.
It happens to us all. Live and learn. After having two Zeus tanks in rotation, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on building on these. I had another tank that was under performing so I got out my spare Zeus. I made a really rookie mistake. I made my coil too wide evidently. I didn't double check the resistance because I knew where I would come out with a 4 wrap Clapton. Filled the tank, took a couple hits and it tasted burnt. I finally double checked and realized it was reading .16 when I knew it should be closer to .5-.6. I felt kind of stupid when I finally figured out what was going on.
Doesn't hurt to be reminded once in awhile that our gear deserves our respect and attention. Way too easy to become complacent with familiarity. Glad it wasn't worse. After having two Zeus tanks in rotation, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on building on these. I had another tank that was under performing so I got out my spare Zeus. No the mod only reads the resistance you put on it. If it reads a .5Ω before chimney it won't point out your Ω dropped, it will only read the new Ω.I am really curious, how can a too wide coil causing a drop of resistance from 0.5-0.6 down to 0.16?
Do you mean it touches the chamber and causes short circuit? But even if so, you mod should complaint about something like "Check Atomizer", right?
To me, 1.5ohm is sky high resistance, worse still, you are restricting the airflow to such extend
.
If I were you, to do MTL with ZEUS, I will use less wraps spaced coil and at lower ohm, range from 0.5-0.7 ohm (since you are using a 28ga Kanthal wire)
Btw, to me the best part of Zeus tank is its AF system, it is a waste if you are not taking advantage from that... in a way, I think Zeus is not designed for a strictly restrictive MTL.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts about it. If it's as easy to wick as the Zeus without it leaking I'm in.They can't because they realised it wasn't even out yet.The Bravo is my best friend, it was built for me, well that's how it feels, I ignore most YT reviewer's, I mostly listen to Jack or Anthony
I'll grab the mini soon..
And you took the bait.I understand and admit that I am a rookie in coil building/wicking.
How ever as a HAM radio operator , I have learned/know a bit about electronics/electricity, as a mechanic/fabricator a bit about building/designing.
And for me the 1.5 ohm 28ga kanthal 9wraps at 3mm is what I choose to use.
Reasoning as follows:
1) I bought it
2) I built it
3) I Vape it
END OF RANT!

I can’t say for sure but believe that the coil must have been just barely touching the chamber enough to drop the resistance without causing a dead short. It was still reading.16 which is in the acceptable resistance range of the mod so it didn’t read it as a short.

Partial short is against physics.
I would rather suspect you did not tight your screw properly. Are you using the original Philip screws as provided?
wanting to dip my toe into TC and am waiting for my first batch of SS to arrive. I might hit you up for some advice when i'm readyI managed to recoil and rewick my tank. 2 nd time ever. Used a demon coil 0.5 ohm readymade coil and some freebie cotton I had. Now vaping in tc at 410F and 20.5 watts. Very tasty.
I need to find a way of rebuilding my supertank coils with ss or ti. Tc is so much better when it comes to flavour.
Nice way to spend a Monday afternoon while sick. Lol.
