I have a gunmetal and a blue. The gunmetal is perfect, the blue one is the PITA.
I just have just one, a SS one. Mine also grates against the inner chimney when taking apart or putting back together. It is the sides with the air holes that is catching. Not really a big problem but it is annoying.

I recently picked up my second Zeus. The first one was/is perfect. No issues at all. I love it. The second one has been a bit of a challenge. It seems that the innards are really tight. When I take the base off it sounds like it's rubbing against the glass. Trying to get it back in so it "clicks" into the slots has been a PITA. It vapes fine but taking the base off and putting it back hasn't been fun.
The one I have has been like that since day one. I would have complained to Geekvape but they would probably take out their anger on the poor little 6 yr old who was in charge of QC the day mine was built.

Just got the black one today, and noticed that tight fit from the two upright air hole towers, scraping the inside of the chimney. Perhaps it’s made tight to limit air escaping around it? If not, I’m sure I could carefully squeeze those posts with pliers or better yet a vise, would just be a slight amount.

I don't think I would do that. It depends on that seal to be air tight.
Once the towers are locked into the chimney, the chimney spins along with the base.
I believe it's an o-ring (that's not accessible) at the top of the chimney assembly, that is creating the friction.

Yeah, I took a closer look as I was first time cleaning it, those posts are fairly thick and might snap. I don’t have much of a problem with spinning friction, just inserting it is very tight, scrapes along the sides, and I must make sure it’s not on an angle going in. It’s not a huge deal so far. Gonna drop a notch coil in there with some rayon and “vape on it”!

    Hello Zeusians!

Is Zeusians what you call those that posses a GeekVape Zeus RTA?

Over the course of the past week I have read all 104 pages (so far) of this thread. I've been vaping for five years, but all my atomizers have been ones that I purchased factory made screw-in coils. I've spent quite a bit of money buying these coils over the course of five years, so building my own has been in the back of my mind for quite some time, but just never took the plunge till now. Originally my quest to find a new atomizer was driven by one factor, find an atomizer that does not leak. I was so over getting vape juice running down my hand at the most inopportune time. So I began searching for atomizers that do not leak. The first one that I came across was the OBS Engine Nano. So I found a huge thread about that particular atomizer and read for days, although I did not make it to the end before I was sold on it as it would fulfill two things for me, no leak and an opportunity to learn how to build my own coils. Sadly I quickly learned that the OBS Engine Nano was no longer made. But I had noticed a few post about the Zeus RTA contained within the Nano thread. I then began searching for information about the Zeus. That is when I found this thread and I'm so happy that I did.

I want to extend a thank you to all that have contributed to this thread. It has given me valuable insight on building my own and the Zeus in particular. I'm so happy that I found it!

Yesterday my two Zeuses (is that the proper plural?) arrived. One in gunmetal and one in stainless. Along with the two Zeus RTA's, I ordered a few different size/types of wire and cotton and the DIY CoilMaster kit. I did not want to use one of the pre-built coils that came with the Zeus, but wanted to start immediately with trying to build my own – only way to learn. Much to my surprise, I did it (actually I was certain I could do it, but didn't know how much trial and error I needed). The only problem that I had was the tiny size of everything (looking at only pictures and videos on the net makes the mind think this thing is fairly large in size, but reality is, it's not), but I managed, although slowly. I made my coil out of SS316L, 3mm ID, and six wraps. For my wick I had ordered some Cotton Bacon V2. I was not going to be the least bit conservative with the cotton. So at first I had pulled off way too much bacon as it would not fit through the coil at all. Removing some of the bacon, re-rolled, it fit into the coil and seemed to be fairly snug, but not tight. I trimmed the tails to where they fall about even with the bottom on the deck. I did not thin the tails at all. I did fluff them out, saturated them with e-juice (All of my e-juice is DIY) and made sure they were in the channels. Assembled the deck into the tank and filled it about ¾ of the way full and let it set for ten minutes. All I can say is WOW! I've never had so much flavor from an atomizer. That was yesterday. Today I'm still getting the same flavor. No spitting, no dry hits, just pure delicious vape that is out of this world. And best of all – NO LEAKS! I'm a happy camper. My juice has never tasted this good. I really don't know how to describe it, but it is like the vape has a moisture content to it that it never had before. Oh if only I had done this long ago, but better late than never.

Again, I want to express my gratitude to the contributors of this thread and for taking me to a whole new level of vaping. THANK YOU!

Sounds like you are on your way!
The Zeus build deck is huge compared to what we were building on 3-4 years ago...:thumb:
Finally put away my Opti Visor for building...

LOL And here I thought I needed to start looking for an Opti Visor! I will admit that I used a magnifying glass a couple of times, but as one ages I guess that just comes with the territory.

I was right there with you about 3 months ago when I picked up my first RTA. What a great testimony. And you are right about these conversations they are almost always informative and vary enough to where one can feel they are getting a full picture of a product.

I guess one can not have a new atomizer without having a new mod to complement it. Cylon on it's way. I think the gunmetal Zeus and black Cylon are going to look and work excellent together.
I recently ordered a Cylon too but it is for wearing my Aromamizer Plus (30mm) I run my Zeus on a Miniken.
And yes the deck is small but your fingers and eyesight will get used to that in no time. I use my strongest reading glasses and lots of light

Same here on reading glasses and lots of light - even a LED headband light!

While the drip tip choices in the package are decent, I’m not a huge fan of the low profile tips.

So, a TIP for any OBS NANO owners, many liked the black tapered drip tip that it came with, myself included. Well, it fits, looks like it was made for it, and works great with the 510 adapter included with the Zeus RTA. Increases the overall height a bit, but I’m glad the few times I get a spit back.

You don't need to wait 10 minutes to start vaping, Zeus is a RTA not sub-ohm tank.
    Just count 1, 2, 3 and GO.:w00t:
