Hello, I've been trying my luck at coil building on my taifun gs and itaste v.3. Some general questions :
Are larger diameter coils better at vapor production than smaller diameter?
If not how does the diameter of the coil affect performance?
Why use 28 gauge wire vs 32 gauge or any other gauge for that matter? How does the different gauge affect performance?
Why does 10 wraps of 28 gauge get me to 1.5 ohms when the same number of wraps with 32 gauge get a high 3.1 ohm?

I've built coils on 5/64 drill bit, 1.4 mm precision screwdriver. Being new to this, it's all a bit confusing

1.) I actually get better vapor the smaller I wrap the coils. It just depends on your build.
2.) Smaller diameter helps achieve lower resistance. Lower resistance helps with vapor production. Again, it depends on your build.
3,4.) When it comes to the wire, the smaller the number, the thicker the wire. The thicker the wire, the less resistance.

If a wire is thicker, then there is more area for electrons to travel, so the resistance is lower. Personally I don't see any difference in a 1/16 or 5/64 coil if I wrap at same ohms, its all just a matter or how thick of a wick I want to get in there. I like the bigger wick for lower ohm cuz it can hold more juice than a thinner wick. I feel like 28 gauge starts to perform really well under 1.4 ohm, and 30 performs well under 2ohm. The thinner the wire the faster it will heat up, so if you want a higher ohm build 30-32 is perfect. I run a single coild 28gauge 5/64 in everything but my dual coil Aqua, which I run 2x1.8ohm 30ga dual coil so its .9 ohm total. This is all from my experience and my preferences, what works for me may not work for you, but I figured its good reference.

Interesting. Yea, I see all kinds of YouTube videos about building "micro" or "nano" coils which are so damn tiny that barely any cotton can be threaded through them. It seems to me that wire wrapped around a larger object would allow more cotton to be threaded through it and that larger amount of fluffy stuff could be saturated heavily with juice and would make for more flavor and vapor. But, I can't say that is the end result I'm getting now.
