Hello all! Just chiming in to ask a few questions about my genesis build. First off the entire assembly is about 3 inch's long and the wick is about 2 and 1/4 inch's i seem to have problems with the capillary effect as it runs dry fast as heck. a 2 second burn and its dry. Do i need to make the wick a bit bigger width wise or do i need to make the holding tank area a little smaller to shorten up the wick? Secondly can anyone link me to some decent terminals for the kanthal to be hooked up to or any other good connector? Im afraid of the wire breaking and i cant seem to find any. Any help is much appreciated TIA!!!

You've got the kanthal going awfully far from wires to the wick, those will start to glow, so get that distance down.

Also it looks like 3 wraps which is probably too hot so it runs dry quicker. 4 or 5 would probably be better to start.

Finally, that tube the wick is in makes the wick need to get juice from the very bottom of the tank only, which slows down the wicking. I would suggest removing the length below the center piece.

That is based on the pics, but how is your roll? Not too dense and slides in and out fairly easily? This helps wicking too.

The part that sticks down in the tank yes, but the part in the center piece sets the hole size for the wick. Some twisting in is OK, but too much can kink the wick which is not good. I prefer a snug fitting wick with a slight spiral shaped interior, but I've noticed Sturm's wicks slip right in effortlessly and a .9mm needle fits down the center. This means it is a tight roll but free space on the outside and inside for juice to get by.

yah i i know about the fiddle with it just looking for a few pointers and maybe some advice. I just assumed the stainless steel tube for the mesh was to stop leaking so i figured the longer the better, but i guess not. if i can get the tube out i may try without it then. i will probably have to roll up 1" of mesh tho since its alot larger
