I keep reading everywhere about genesis style rbas? what makes an rba a genesis style? i purchased my first rda a few days ago and i am looking to purchase a rba. I have been looking seriously at a AGI 2-1. It has the reservoir and a dripper. I would like something like this. Although, i keep reading everyone raving about the AGA T-2. Im just looking to jump right to the best rba. I dont want to spend a bunch of money trying to find the perfect one. Also, what would be a good mech battery? Iv been looking at a sigelei telescopic flat head. Its VV which is something i would also like. Anyone have some insight? I thank you all for your patience and assistance!

Genesis style RBA is a vertical wick wrapped with wire (often SS mesh or other wick mediums) wicking up from a tank. I've tried many and it's the DID for me. Set up on a ceramic wick (IMO) nothing else comes close. Clones can be had but by buying the original will never let you down. Keep an eye on the classifieds, for $80>$100 you can pick up a used one. Head over to the Rebuildable Atomizer Systems and answers to all your questions will be found.

I got the AGI as my first RBA. I just wanted to practice building coils on it. It is what it is. When it works it does a fine job. I don't think I would use it for anything other than a dripper because when used as an RBA with tank you do kind of have big voltage drop from the spring that is used for the positive post.

Thanks guys. I think im gonna go with the aga t+2. my local b@m has one for a good price. Im still trying to find a vv mech battery though.

Are you looking for a vv mod or a mech mod? Mech mods cannot be vv (unless you use a kick) by default since they are mechanical rather than running circuitry (which is what the kick adds)

I think you will be happy with it, that's what I went with. It's easy to set up and provides a good vape. Just order up some 28g kanthal and some 400 SS mesh and have at it with the YouTube videos on RBA setup. If variable voltage is something you are wanting you don't want a mech. You can use a kick, and vary your wattage though.

A mech has one control on it, the button. Your voltage is nailed down to the output of the battery in it, which decreases as you vape along. Your control over the rate of voltage use is how you wind your coil. Seriously sub-ohm coils will drain your battery faster. If you want to go sub-ohm I'd recommend .8 ohms or so which is not a hard target to hit with a 4/3 wrap with 28g kanthal.

Other things you might want to pick up are the little black ohms tester that's out of stock everywhere, or a multimeter to check the ohms of your RBA before you put it on your mech. Always make sure you don't have a short before putting it on your mod. Also, one of those metal dental picks is nice to have for working out hot spots in your coil, also a small hand torch for oxidizing your SS mech when making wicks and a pair of hemostats comes in pretty handy too.

On the AGA-T2, be sure your wick does not touch the metal bottom of the tank, this will cause a short.

For making a wick on an AGA-T2 a piece of SS mesh 1 3/8 X 3 inches will work just fine.
