Nice writeup. Only thing I've found different is that I like it hotter than most. Due to that I don't get any gradual build up and instead of changing stuff every weeks or a month, mine go indefinitely. Well, at least for months. Can't remember when I last changed mine. And I thought I got three A4 sized sheets of mesh for about $25 from The Mesh Co? Not that that is a big deal ...before anyone jumps to conclusions, NO, I don't have my LV yet. I've been using a couple of Peaceoffcake's first Genisis attys (not the hybrid) for almost a year now. :)

+1 here. Anyone who has read my posts knows I love Genisis mods and have many of them. I do the same thing as far as keeping them hotter and that indeed works for keeping them going a very long time. The mesh/coil in my mini is over 6months old and still going like a train. I clean it for sanitary reasons occasionally, but never because it is gunked up. For cleaning, I take the wick out of the coil and blast it with a torch till it's all clean and then use hot water to clean out the tank. When it's dried up I fill it back up and put the mesh back into the coil. Of course to me the vape and taste are second to none as well.

I have thought about cleaning mine... Mostly just thought about it though. Lol, I did clean it twice I think 'cause I figured something had to be going bad in there somewhere after all this time. I mean I think I read somewhere that glycerine might go bad after 6 months or maybe it was a year? or something like that. Heh, nothing looked like it had moss or green stuff growing or anything. In any event I didn't disassemble anything. Simply forceably shot syringes full of hot water in the fill hole and let it squirt out through the mesh. Seemed like everything got squeaky clean.

That works too, I just like playing with my toys. :)

What is hot to you? What resistance and voltage are we talking here?

That would be around 11 watts. 1.4Ω to 1.6Ω with 4v. Using a 2600mAh 18650 that can easily supply the 2.5Amps. (On rare occassion I'll use it on my 14500 750mAh BB. It sags a bit but doesn't trip the circuit.) Used to do 6v with 3Ω attys and cartos -- about 12 watts.

Thanks you. Hmmm, i am more of a 9ish watt vaper. I'll have to see what happens I guess

I do 3.5 wraps (.5 since the posts are on opposite sides of the wick) with 32g kanthal. 4.5 wraps will get you something approaching 2Ω (assuming the posts are relatively close to the wick). Figure about 0.3Ω ~ 0.4Ω per wrap?
