Bikergirl and I (and a few others) are trying to plan a get-together the first weekend of October (10/2) somewhere in the metro area. Right now we're thinking about the Eagles Nest at Manuel's Tavern (Manuel's Tavern | Bar | Restaurant), but we're not sure how many people to expect (seats 25-30 max) or whether we'll have to use their catering service if we go that route.

This thread is to gauge interest in said meet and to get suggestions for alternate locations, etc... so... whatcha got, people?

Manual's Tavern Update:

After a bit of phone tag with the owner, we finaly spoke today. On the first Sat of every month they have some kind of comedy thing so on Saturday, October 2, 2010, the only space available is the Eagles Nest. This is the smallest of the spaces and holds max about 35 people. It is over the main eating area/dining room and there is a short flight of stairs so it is not wheelchair friendly. You can smoke at the bars and in the event rooms and pretty much everywhere in the place, except the main eating area. As the Eagles Nest is over the eating area, the owner says we can vape up there all we want as long as no one complains. As to menu, there would be a waiter/server assigned to us for drinks and food. We do not have to use the catered menu and can order from the regular menu. There would only be one ticket, not sparate ones, and it would be up to us to determine who owes what to satisfy the bill. A 20% gratuity would also automatically be added to the bill. They have me penciled in and I just need to let them know within a reasonable time if we don't want it. (snip).

Oooh, that's not far at all! I'd have to check with MrJaaxx to be sure (I'm WAY to shy to go by myself!!) but it sounds like a good plan.

Nothing has been set in stone yet, but we'd probably get started in the early evening (4-5pm) and stay 'til they boot us. Feel free to add your own suggestions.

And bring some cash! bikergirl and I are donating some stuff for a raffle, all the proceeds of which will go to the IVAQS indoor vapor air quality study (http://IVAQS.com). So far the prize list looks like this:
