Heya,

Seems like I'm in this hobby barely ten minutes and somebody's already changing the rules. In my quest to hunt down a particularly elusive model of e-Pipe that's no longer in production, I ran across something very interesting (sadly, it wasn't my desired pipe).

I don't know if other companies are doing the same thing yet, or if this is the first, but they're calling it "e-Solid," and it looks like a little tube of colored toothpaste. Just squeeze a little bit into your carto, and you're off! Weee!

I'll attach some pics I sneakily scavenged from the website, despite their no-right-click-witha-da-mousey countermeasures. :p

Opinions? Think it'll catch on? I'm trying to imagine mixing this stuff. (It does occur to me, though, that this could make nicotine handling a bit safer, if also released in gel form for mixing. Well, as long as you don't get the tubes confused and brush your teeth with the wrong one...)

Not that I noticed. Here's all it says...

Advantages:

More convenient to use
More heavy smoke
Use for long time, better chemical stability
Easy to carry and transport

Uses:

Squeeze the E-solid into cartomizer properly.
Unfit person: Under the age of 18 years old, pregnant and non-smoker.

Storage:

Seal tightly in normal temperature(-20℃-38℃)keep away from light.
Quality warranty:12 months

Cautions:

Keep out of reach of children. Forbid to swallow. Stop using if feel uncomfortable.
Wash immediately if contact with eyes and seek medical attention.

I love the "unfit/underage/preggers" bit under "Uses." LOL (I'm assuming that's just a poor translation, and they mean don't use it under those circumstances. Still funny, though.

I think they might have their terms messed up. This stuff couldn't penetrate into the carto filter. However, putting it directly into an atty and then pop a drip tip on and you're in business. This would be especially useful for an e-pipe. just pop a glob on and there you go.

I read about this a few weeks ago, and would love to get my hands on some to see how it works. I would say whenever it heats, it starts to melt a bit to a liquid and then to a vapor. just think if it was stable enough to fill a cart with no filler, then slowly get used as you vape.

One thing I a curious about is what are they using to make it thick like that. I like knowing all I am vaping is flavor and vg/pg. They have to be adding something to keep it close to a solid and how is that going to react to the addy's heat. As in what is it going to give off.

I gave up on cigs to vape because its the healthier option and gone are my days where I would smoke just about anything to see if I could get a buzz outta it.

Well this would require totally new consumption technology. So everyone can stop whining about cartos; That's like getting an airplane and wondering if you can use the tires from your vauxhall vectra.

The only real question is: What is the new medium, and how does it compare to PG/VG? Health is the bottom line. I have no doubts gel can pump crazy vapor with the appropriate delivery mechanism, but one assumes gel would mean significantly more residue, which is ominous with our tiny 510 form factor.

Its the lingo thats messing with ya head. A carto=cartomizer as opposed to cart=cartridge. So what you are using is an atty=atomizer with a cart=cartridge. A carto or cartomizer is both in one (atty and cart).

Wasn't the lingo, I knew the diff already, but I was looking at my 808, and for some reason thought the 510 was the same. I see now that's it's just the opposite. Oops. But yeah, the cartomizers for the 808 are threadless, and the threads are on the battery.

Well this would require totally new consumption technology. So everyone can stop whining about cartos...

A bit harsh, methinks, but still... the company themselves are saying e-Solid works with the hardware as-is, so I'm hesitant to jump to any conclusions regarding new technology being needed. Guess we'll just have to wait until it hits the market to find out for sure, though.

Ok, so let's revise the questions a little. Let's assume, for conversation's sake, that the gel works with standard atomizers. If that were the case, does a gel-based flavoring appeal more than liquid? What would be the upsides and drawbacks?
