Ok so I formed this social group to try and generate some advocacy from a more liberal perspective now it's time to try and put something together.
I started writting another diary for Dailykos and realized that I'm rather weak on certain specifics.
I know that I have been successful myself in quitting analogs, I also know that even should a ban go into effect I'll still be able to get access to the parts and supplies thanks to the wonders of the internet and international shipping. That being said I am concerned that millions of other smokers will never learn or be willing to try this product if a ban goes into affect. Further we know what will happen if this technology is taken over by either of the existing interests.
Big tobacco will make an inferior product probably disposable that will cost too much will likely include god knows what additives and will only result in rewarding the same group of lying a**holes who put this monkey on all our backs to begin with.
Big Pharma will come out with a product that will require a perscription cost way to friggin much taste like crap and look stupid to boot.
Neither option is appealing as a product that will encourage innovation put money into the hands of small businesses and be responsive to consumer demands.
This all is pretty clear at least to me. That being said however I'm not sure exactly what we want to have happen with the current regulation.
What specific amendments to the Waxman bill would keep e-cigs viable?
