Really, you think I'm ignorant?

Just check into what the alcohol content is for light beers as opposed to real beers.
Good luck finding that information, because they don't want to tell you.

How do you think they reduce the calories?
By reducing the alcohol.

And yes, this is a serious issue for me and I consider myself a crusader in my efforts to enlighten.
You'll notice the beer companies don't tell you how much less alcohol is in light beer.
But yeah, just trust them, they think light beer is a freaking bonanza.

And yeah, if you want a real beer, they aren't hard to find.
They just aren't named Miller, Coors, or Budweiser.

And once again, Baby Jesus cries.

bud light is 4.2% alcohol ...

The only reason why you may feel that light beer has less alcohol is because (yes you are right) the dilution factor. The light beer companies utilize an enzyme called beta-amylase, as opposed to the heavier beer companies which use alpha-amylase. These enzymes break the sugar down into small and large sugars respectively. The smaller, or simple, the sugar, the more alcohol is released by hydrolyzing the glycosidic linkage.

In summary, light beers really contain more alcohol than heavy beers such as Guinness (until it's diluted).

Loved the class. I would take it again if I could.

Also, here is a link to all alcohol content, carbs, and calories for beer.

I've got some 36mg apple coming from TECC tomorrow. I plan to mix it with Lorann cinnamon and a little VG, and take a couple of big hits every night before I go to sleep.
Watch out scribbles, Kansas is about to go bye bye ... hahaha
For day time vaping i'll cut some to 24mg strength. Vaping 36mg regularly will put me in a zone I think.

Am I the only one who never really enjoyed the nic buzz? I like drinking and all that jazz, just not the nic buzz.
There's a fine line between an enjoyable nictoine buzz and that ill kind feeling on the other side.

That's all good for most of the states but when I lived in Florida there weren't any 40's. Those days were quarts of Old English 800. My slummin' days are over.

The trend i am seeing here is anyone that smoked more than a couple cigs an hour(over pack a day) never got this buzz, and i also saw that when I smoked. Its really about that first smoke of the day, that was my rainbow, the rest of the day i would spend chasing it but could never find it again. Though a cig after a meal was very comforting. I reach right for my PV after meals and get that feeling again.

I tried that technique you mentioned, I think you brought back the throat hit to my 901!
Though i think i should try this again after the nicotine flushes out o me body.

I haven't got that buzz since I started smoking. Heck, in the mornings I had to smoke at least 3 in a row to even make myself start to feeling better at all. Sucks to wake up, take the meds, and have to wait about 20-30 mins for them to kick in.

I was being sarcastic with the 1.4% remark, but whatever.

Light beer has less alcohol, and they won't tell you about that.
And why should they, they got you coming and going.

Budweiser: 5.0% Calories: 145
Bud Light: 4.2% Calories: 110

Coors: 4.9% Calories: 149
Coors Light: 4.15% Calories: 104

Miller High Life: 4.7% Calories: 143
Miller Lite: 4.2% Carlories: 96

Very simple, you want less calories, find a nice beer with as little alcohol as possible.

May I suggest the following...

Pabst Extra Light Low Alcohol: 2.5% Calories: 67
Miller Genuine Draft "64": 2.8% Calories: 64
Michelob Ultra: 4.1% Calories: 95

And the taste is just outstanding.
Bottoms up!!!

That's pretty ignorant. Most beers have standard 5% or more alcohol content with 4~5% for the fruity flavored beers.

Wine has more. I bet that's what you drink for a buzz. I'll drink the beer and leave the wine for ladies.

Why thank you Proto, cause I can't stomach beer, makes my head spin, screws with my equilibrium. I get the same buzz from 1 beer as half a bottle of wine.

What? You mean except for right on every can/bottle/case? lol What the hell are you talking about. Alcohol content information for every alcoholic beverage in the United States is readily available.

And people don't drink light beer because it will get them drunk quicker. They drink it because they like the taste better, get less calories, and still get drunk if they so choose. Also, I'm pretty sure carbs are a big factor in drinking light beer too. (I couldn't care less about that, so I'm not positive).

Superiority complex because you drink "real" beer?

On topic, the only time I ever got a nicotine buzz was the first few times I smoked. I also felt like I was going to pass out from it once - was in Canada and didn't smoke for a week. Steamed one in probably 40 seconds. Wasn't good.

No way, really?

When I was researching light beer back in college (15 years ago) they didn't have the alcohol content listed on the beers. You couldn't get the information in any way, shape or form regarding the fact that light beer has less alcohol. I even called breweries directly and they wouldn't answer the question. So every time I saw anybody buying light beer, I told them.

Now I have to look at the labels on them when I get back to the liquor store.
I know they used to do everything they could to make sure you didn't know this fact.

But it's quite possible I am now talking out my ... if things have changed.

I know REAL beer usually has that information on the label these days.
I assumed they were putting that information on there by choice.

But I haven't looked at crap beer in a long time,
Maybe a law changed at some point along the way.

I seriously can't imagine any human being liking the taste of light beer.
It tastes like piss water.

Of course, I said before I'm definitely a beer snob.
:)

Anyway, light beer has less alcohol, and I hope some people learned something they didn't know.
But I suppose if you like the taste of it, then knock yourself out.

Everyone has their own tastes. One of my friends favorite beers is bud ice which in my opinion is literally a watery piss taste (got some sol beer the other day and thought it tasted the same... he loved it)

I try to try a different beer every week and most beers don't say the alcohol content anywhere on the bottle/case, especially the big named company's like Budweiser, and Coors beers. I think most beer company's don't want to show the alc percent unless its above 5%.

My favorites lately have been red stripe, Michelob shock top, the full Dundee line of beers and my new favorite is Southampton double white and Southampton altbier.

Back to topic though, ive rarely if ever felt any real nic buzz i think except after a half day break or so and then trying to buzz through 2-3 cigs in 10min or so, not a big fan

a nic buzz is ......ed. end of story. Some people working for ASH or someone else against E cigs is going to read around on this forum, and it will just back up their fact that e-cig vendors are "drug pushers" its ****ing nicotine replacement, not some kind of areggano/catnip alternitive to get 'High'. jesus guys grow up.

Wow. That was uncalled for. Caffeine can give you a buzz, alcohol can give you a buzz. The one thing that nicotine, caffiene, and alcohol all have in common is the fact they're legal drugs. I'm pretty sure that's a widely known fact and not some underground secret only smokers and vapers are aware of.

In any case, calling it "nictotine replacement" is just as bad, since vaping is not a "nicotine replacement" therapy (which is typically used for smoking cessation) but instead an alternative to tobacco use. The fact that some people have used PVs to quit smoking is a positive side-effect; but other people have no interest in such "off-label" use of e-cigs. Those people like nicotine (a legal drug) and we're not casting e-cigs in a bad light talking about the constituent "drug" in tobacco and e-liquid and its effect on the body.
