Getting E1 and E2 error, not satisfied with Provari

Ok, so my Provari is cycling through E1 and E2 error with my kayfun 3.1. A bit more about my build, its a 4 strand 34 gauge twisted 1.3 ohm coil. Which gives me awesome flavor and vapor at high wattages/volts. I am able to run 14-15 Watts on my Vamo V5 easily without any dry hits or burnt taste. Its not a clearomiser for which I have to follow the volt chart. So what gives? Oh and my volts are at 5.5 - 5.8V which I am assuming the chip is deciding is too much.

So my question more importantly is that, Provari is good for only cartomisers and basic clearomisers?


Edit : Though a lingering thought that I have is that can the Provari be going bad? Because even with an aerotank with a 1.5 Ohm coil at only 3.5V it showed E1 error a couple of times. Ofcourse the aerotank is working flawlessly with my other mods.

At 5.5 V with a 1.3 ohm coil, the amperage required is 4.23 amps and the resulting wattage is over 23 watts. I'm not sure what you were expecting considering the Provari V2.5 has 3.5 amp limit as well as a 15 watt limit. It is giving you the E1 and E2 codes because you are exceeding these limits.
So my question more importantly is that, Provari is good for only cartomisers and basic clearomisers? No, it runs my Russians fine, you just need to lower your voltages so you do not exceed the amperage/power limitations of the Provari.

There is nothing wrong with your Provari, it is working fine.

Oh my bad, I didnt use the Ohm calculator at all, I simply assumed 6V is possible at all times.

It is one of the things I love about the Provari, instead of simply firing the coil at its limit, it will give you the error codes and let you know you need to lower your voltage settings.

The Provari was designed with safety measures for a reason. It gives error codes to warn you that what you are attempting is not safe. Other devices may fire an unsafe setup, but then its on you to realize what is safe and what is not.

I use a 1.3 ohm microcoil in my Kayfun Lite + on my Provari, but I'm only using 3.0 - 3.4 volts of power. Wonderful vape.

Edit: I use a 1.3 ohm coil in the Kayfun because then I can use it on both the Provari or my Silver Bullet mech mod.

I find I need a little margin of error in terms of ohms. When I get in the 1.2 - 1.4Ω range, my ProVari will sometimes throw errors. Raise the Ω to 1.4 - 1.5Ω and no problems. Mine is still V1, so that may also play into the equation. I also feel it's prudent to use the VOM to check the coil before placing on the ProVari. (two meters are better than one )

Is there a preferred atomizer to use with the ProVari?

Yes, we recommend using a higher resistance atomizer. This will give you the most voltage options. For Cartomizers we prefer the 3.0ohm and for Atomizers High Voltage 2.8-3.2 ohm work best.

Low Resistance - Low resistance atomizers/cartomizers are not the best to use, they will limit the voltage options that you can go up to. Also note that as a atomizer heats up, their resistance drops. When they get dry the resistance also drops. If you have your voltage set higher and the resistance drops, it will cause the E1,E2 errors.
When using a higher resistance atomizer you will be able to dial up the voltage into the higher ranges and have more room for the atomizer resistance to move around without getting into the limits of the device or driving the atomizer into a very low range or short.

That is my exact setup for my provari's and it is fantastic.

I still use cartomizers in cartotanks, too. I use 2.5 - 3.0 ohm single coil cartomizers in them on my Provari's. Even with those, I am using low voltage settings (3.8 - 4.4 volts). I prefer a cooler vape.

RBA's perform better with a lower resistance IMHO. The Kayfun-style RTA's perform better in the 1.2 - 2.0 ohm range. The above recommendations for cartomizer and 510 drip atomizers were made by Provape before anyone was even thinking about rebuildable atomizers.

E1 - This won't work.
E2 - Helloooo, didn't you see the last error code?
E4 - You are an idiot. You don't need to contact ProVape as the manual says, I'm trying to scare you into paying attention.

I have a 2.1 that i made for my taifun and if i go over 3.2v on my provari with it it burns the crap out of everything. lol I get about 3.6v with my 1.7 cart with no burning. it is only things i build. It works that is all i care about. I only ever get OP error and that is because i have to move the pin on the taifun or PT.
