Hi, I am a new e-cig member.

I have been reading these forums for a week now. I have typed in searches for the RN4075 and read what the search pulled up. I have finally figured out that the 901/RN4075 are the same (pretty much), so I can use the information about the 901's for my RN4075. What I am not finding in my searches is answers to my particular questions and problems.

I am having trouble refilling my cart. I use the poly batting but I cannot stop the whistling noise I hear when I inhale. That is driving me crazy. I thought maybe I wasn't filling the cart with enough batting but when I stuffed it fuller the fluid leaked into my mouth.

The batting in the cart is thoroughly wet. In fact I end up adding a drop or 2 every other drag trying to see if that will stop the whistling. I feel like I'm just wasting juice.

I watched umpteen videos. One was the brass screen filter and I didn't really understand it. I watched the tea bag video and tried using a rolled and folded tea bag but it wasn't any better. I could still hear the whistling and I was still adding juice after juice even though the tea bag paper was soaked.

I don't think I can drip on these atomizers, can I? I thought the type of e-cig I have isn't made for dripping.

Last night I was so fed up I cut a piece of gauze and soaked it down with juice and instead of stuffing it in the cart I dropped it straight down on top of the atomizer and then put the cart on. For a few, brief, WONDERFUL drags, there was no whistling and full thick vapor. Then after awhile it went back to the whistling. I tried using several more pieces of juice soaked gauze directly on the atomizer but it never did as nicely as the first time and I feel like I am wasting so much juice trying to figure it out. Maybe I ruined my atomizer. I don't know and I am really getting aggravated.

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

if the whistling is air between the cart and the atty, try another cart. If the whistling a woosh sound of the atty vaporizing liquid then I know nothing you can do about that.

Are you using whistle-tip carts? I just tried one of my DSE901 whistle tips by itself and it whistles a bit not even on the atomizer. The air channel is visible separate and next to the juice cup. You could try cleaning out the air channel from both ends with a thin pipe cleaner.

I am not sure but you may be able to use any style of 510 cart - maybe a different kind would whistle less.

If you think it is the whistling of atty against filler vaporing liquid, you could try blue foam stuffing. I haven't tried it yet with the whistle tips but one guy said it works for him. Cheapest way to get a small amount of blue foam is strictlyejuice.com precut blue foam for 510 and 901. It looks to me like it is cut for the round-tip 510 carts but is cheap and I think each piece would be big enough to experiment with a shape for the whistle tip juice cart. Or if you want to buy the bulk for 10x the price - it's Marineland Rite Size U Foam Sleeve int he aquarium dept of PetSmart.

Bottom line is, most e-cigs make noises. Cartomizers make even louder noises. My quietest (and weakest) PV is M401 with blue foam I cut for the cart stuffing.

Thank you for the replies. Rosa, I will check on those links. So, if whistling is something that goes with the whole vaping thing I'll get used to it I guess. Although, like I said above, for a few vapes last night, after dropping the juice soaked gauze directly on the coil, there was no sound and I could tell a huge difference.

I am using the whistle tips. I just didn't know if I was using too much juice. If having to fill it up every 4th vape is what you have to do thats fine. The stuffing still looks full of juice but if thats what it takes I can do that. I just felt like I was doing something wrong.

You can drip too if you like that (Just not while driving and not really recommended if you have automatic batteries because they have an open hole on the threaded end - if juice gets in it could kill the battery or drag sensor). Since apparently RN4075 and 901 share the same carts, you could use a 510/901 drip time (get delrin or metal - works better than the clear plastic) - I got mine at LiteCigUSA.net (a nice NW vendor w/ cheap shipping). With a drip tip on the atty instead of a cart, you can just drip through the drip tip, shake down lightly to make sure the jucie went down, then vape.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason tonight it isn't making any noise. I wish I could figure out what I did differently.

I'll bet after all the reading you started taking longer/slower drags. I initially got "airflow" noises/whistling with my first 510s; the culprit was I was drawing too hard, like I did with a real cig.
