I have tried many different vendors juices before and none have "popped" with flavor like Tasty Vapor and Mrs T's. These just fill your entire mouth with flavor and I like that.

I have made many of my own mixes and while the first drag or two has some good flavor, after that it just dies out. None of the flavors I have made "pop" I really want to figure this out but every flavor Ive made just doesnt quite cut it. Now mind you, I dont like fruity flavors. The ONLY fruit I will be attempting is Apple, which I got some PA apple to try this week.

I wonder if its my Nic-VG or my plain old VG, or my plain PG that is killing the flavor. Maybe its VG in general.. I dunno.

THanks for listening to me rant.

When you first try a flavor it's new on your taste buds, and like you get used to the smell of your house or your cologne/perfume after a while, that happens when you vape too. I think they compensate by adding more flavor than you do when you make your own. I know when I first tried those brands they were very strong, but after a while they were fine. Another possibility is they've been sitting a while in the mail so the flavors have diffused instead of being 'on the top.'

I noticed that on Tasty Vapor's ingredients, they list that there may be acetyl pyrazine & guaicol in them. I just made another order at Perfumer's Apprentice and forgot to get these to try. I don't know if they would be the solution to making the flavors "pop" though.

And I'm still trying to figure out what Ms. T uses! I cannot, for the life of me, get my gingerbread cookies to taste as good as hers. I've put Capella's gingerbread & cinnamon danish swirl together and that gets the taste, but I have to add so much of it and it doesn't have the body of her stuff.

I haven't tried very many supplier liquids, just a few from obscure places. I went into DIY pretty quickly. I'm afraid if I try Tasty Vapor or Ms. T flavors that I've made, I'll not want to DIY anymore and give up. hah

So until then I just keep experimenting til something tastes right... I too can't seem to get my flavors to "pop" and it seems some of them lost their flavor after vaping them too much. (or my taste buds tire of it, je ne sais pas!?)

I'll have to try those two, I've been meaning to get base note chemicals from PA. They have recommendations on their site, but you can also check out thegoodscentscompany's informational pages. The organoleptics section on the acetyl pyrazine page says it should be smelled at 0.10%, but since you're using it to boost other flavors you might want to use closer to what PA recommends which is 1% of the 1% solution they sell (0.01%). Unfortunately, they don't say at what percentage the Guaiacol comes diluted.

Acetyl pyrazine is used to get the buttered popcorn flavor but I don't know how or what guaicol is used for. marshmallow can add some depth to the creamy flavors but it's still not getting it there for me.

Capella may be making the flavor especially for Mrs. T's. I'm going to send you a tiny amount of something that might work. I only have about a ml of it but I'll share. ;)

OMG, for real? That would rock my socks off! I've been wondering why she won't offer anything larger than 15ml, but maybe because her stuff is too expensive to make and maybe she has to add lots of flavoring for it not to be worth making larger bottles.

i have noticed that if i vape to long the inside of my mouth piece gets condensation on it and flavor levels drop. i always have a qtip around to swab. once swabbed the flavor comes back.
other than that i have also drilled out the mouth piece so there pretty much isn't that tiny little hole to suck threw and flavor never goes down.

Today, artificial vanillin is made from either guaiacol or lignin. According to thegoodscentscompany it's order is phenolic, smoky, spicy, medicinal, vanilla and savory meaty with a woody nuance. Phenolic means sweet and sharp.

Would you share what is this "something" that might work?

i too have been curious about all these additional additive/chemicals that can help flavoring, but there's much research to be done, being that there are so many out there. The A-Z list on Perfumers App is more than overwhelming for the beginner perfumist/flavorist.

Linalool in particular intrigues me. Sposedly adds a bit of sweetness and has some health benefits as well. Janty uses it on their liquid.

Despite the advanced chemical additive's out there that may or may not "pop" that flavor out, I've been finding that liquid sweetner (sucralose) has improved alot of my diy experiments. its helped curb the sharpness of some fruit flavors (LorAnn in particular) as well as enhance some liquids I had previously made and were "somewhat" satisfied with, but now much more!

i use about 1 drop per 5-10ml. depending on the flavor i may use 2 drops. sucralose is a pretty strong sweetener.

...my two drops worth

I thought about the sucralose as well but I cannot stand te after taste of diet drinks or artificial sugars. I would hate to vape that stuff if the aftertaste is present.

I haven't had that after taste you speak of, but I also do not like it in diet drinks as well. I haven't found it to come through in the vape though. TPA sells a 3ml vial of Sucralose if ya want to give it a try.

It's just a different cinnamon flavor similar to Cinnamon Danish Swirl.

I agree, the aftertaste is nasty to me and it did come through in the e-liquid I tried.

Has anyone used Vape Wizard or Magic Mask with any success as far as adding "pop"? Any idea what is in these?

You are all looking for a Flavor Potentiator, not an enhancer. Take Sunwin Stevia for example adding it to a product can alter the sweetness profile. Stevia is natural and not processed so it doesn't coat your tongue and make 3rd, 4th and 5th hits of a sweet flavor bland. There is no stress on the atomizers and the stuff is sweeter than sugar without any type of after taste. It does have to be Sunwin Stevia which just happens to be on sale from the distributor now at buy one get one. Here is a link.

Only Sweet: Only Sweet Home Page

Now I will go back in to my secret hole and you guys can update each other on how this works for you. This is good for bland fruits, alcohol flavors and anything bitter. Just be careful it is like menthol crystals a little goes a LOOONNNGGG way.

Stevia is NOT a potentiator, it is a sweetener and flavor enhancer like ethyl maltol and sucralose. This doesn't mean you can't use it, but don't mislead people.

One of the categories of additives, potentiators enhance the total seasoning effect, generally without contributing any taste or odor of their own. They are effective in minute doses-in parts per million or even less. A potentiator produces no identifiable effect itself but exaggerates one's response. They alter the response of the sensory nerve endings on the tongue and in the nose. As far as I know, Vape Wizard and Magic Mask are the only potentiators for vaping.

I have tried Sunwin Stevia in my tea and while some say they can't taste the aftertaste, some say they can, I and a friend of mine definitely get a nasty aftertaste. A bottle cost me 10.00 at the health food store and it was a waste. I gave it to my chiropractor's wife cause she loves it. To each it's own, but JMHO. If your going to try it, do a small sample batch first
