Been awhile since I stopped by but am getting frustrated and just plain tired of this part time job of caring for clearomizers. Began vaping in Feb...STILL looking for THE ONE clearomizer to knock my socks off and say THIS IS IT! Protanks are great when they work....I'm doing cleaning everyday, changing coils twice a week. Oh....theres 3 of us vaping ...KangerT3..ok....IClear30's better than T3....forget cartomizers...hate them. Tried the Octopus....not for me. Anyone have a suggestion for a low maintenance, fairly cheap Clearo I can be happy with? I'd buy more protanks but at $15 a shot forget it, already going broke buying batteries ( EGO ) that seem to have their heads come off. Getting too old for more aggravation in life....and I LOVE vaping. :D

Id suggest a battery mod and a carto tank. There is a small learning curb, but when you have them down there really is not much fiddling. Just pop in a new cart every week or so.

To add to this. I didn't like vaping cartos at all but I LOVE my carto tanks. Hunt down Baditudes Blogs for EXCELLENT instructions on setting up and using carto tanks.

Papacrane, rather than replacing your eGo batteries on a regular basis (yeah, that WOULD get rather expensive in a hurry), perhaps it's time to look at the next step and look at a PV that will last longer than your eGo's do. There are quite a few inexpensive solutions out there (Vamo being but one) that would allow you to then concentrate on a clearo that works best for you and your habits.

bauway ce4 clearos are good. my mom uses them with my old ego twists. they are non serviceable and about $3 a piece. she uses them till they get tight then soak them in hot water or alcohol and reuse them. she gets about 3 reuses out of them depending on what she vapes. got them from smartvapes.com but you might find them cheaper if you look around. i tried them and they are decent but not as good as an rba. get some name brand egos and i think they will last longer for you. an MVP from innokin would be a good upgrade to.

Actually on the replacing egos thing

I recently picked up one of these Joye eGo-T 18650 Mod - Avid Vaper
I love this thing. It is thicker than an ego but not longer. It is regulated like and ego. It takes a flat top IMR 18650 battery. SO much longer battery life and the battery is replaceable without replacing the whole device.

Just a thought for you.

Or maybe a bottom-feeder? I know it's an off the wall suggestion, but I just got a couple of them and have been surprised at how easy they are to use. It's a box with a battery and bottle inside. You put a plain atty or carto on top and squeeze the bottle a little to feed the juice up into the atty/carto. There are no other parts. Like anything in vaping there is a learning curve, but it's not a big one. The main draw back is it might be a hassle if you switch juices a lot. The Vmod is popular.

Papacrane,

I can only speak for myself and I'm not a clearo guy but I'm pretty impressed with a cigalike battery called the Joyetech eRoll. (apples and oranges I know). It won't cut it on its own (unless maybe you were a very light smoker) but might be a helpful addition to your collection until you do find the right battery or delivery device best suited for you & your eLiquid. It onlys holds less than half a ML of juice but you can compensate for that by using a higher nicotine or WTA so you're not needing to vape up a storm to prevent nic fits off your current setups.

I've tried several clearos and not really been a fan, for me, the flavour is not good and often have a very airy draw that I don't like.
I have gone back to the 'old fashioned', some may say, straightforward tank and ego c atty. I know in the past they seemed to have a lot of leaking issues, but I don't find that at all now.
I use a simple ego battery, for one set up, an ecab for another, these two use the same tanks and attys, the tanks last for ever if you refill without removing the caps, using a needle topped bottle, the attys last me up to three weeks and are easy to dry burn if I want to extend the life a bit. The attys cost about £3 each when I get them on offer, the tanks are cheap as chips. In addition I have an eroll which uses the same attys and proprietary tanks and basically is a smaller system like the others.

I find these set ups are simple, rarely any dry hits, easy to refill, easy to change flavours, no need for separate clearo for each flavour and generally the replacement parts are relatively cheap.

It seems nobody really recommends this system any more, having moved on to the latest developments, but I have to say that I have found this very successful. I guess that because this is an enthusiast's site the basic equipment may become buried amongst the newer innovations.

I would recommend the original tank/atty system to anyone who wants something simple.

Just my opinion of course, among many.

I second the evod tanks. They seem to be less troublesome than my protank. Dunno why, they're damn near identical on the inside. You can find good deals on them too. Also, they fit ego batteries fairly well.

I seriously suggest you consider rebuilding. It isn't very difficult or time consuming once you get it straightened out, and it saves money too! Expect a couple evenings of trial and error and you'll be good to go. I understand the need for a reliable tank, that's why I sent my left *inappropriate anatomical reference* to Russia for a top of the line specimen. It's also why I got into rebuilding.
I've been through the gurgles and leaks and burnt hits and juice covered devices, new gear that didn't work out, and downright flinging a mod at the floor in a nicfit rage.most of us have. In 3 years of vaping, I never owned a dependable tank until I started rebuilding the kangers. I love my protanks' performance, but the evods like my pocket better. The way mine are set up, I just pull the old wick out, rinse, thread a new one, and off I go. Takes a couple minutes per head, and I do them all at once so I have spares ready to go. I spend maybe 15-30 mins every week or two rewicking the heads. Have only ever bought a couple replacement heads, they just get new wicks and rotated back through my tanks. I've lost one head while experimenting with silly ideas. That's the beauty of rebuilt coils in kanger tanks. Once you get it down, you won't believe how much time you wasted not doing it ;)

might I suggest a dbox puritank? it is the easiest and best clearo I have found and I have them all. it uses protank or evod coil heads and holds a days worth of juice. it is easy to take apart , clean, and put back together. it is glass , so any juice will work without doing harm to the tank. it isn't that cheap(about $15 to$20) but it works and you only need one. if you use the same juice all the time you wouldn't have to clean it everyday and when you do it is a quick rinse in warm water and back together in less than a minute. just rotate a couple of coils and voila, you're done. the only other one that tastes as good is the ovale cylo, but it is NOT as cheap and requires a lot of fiddling- but when it is working it gives the best flavor. try the puritank, you won't be disappointed. I like evods, but they don't hold any juice and it is a constant pain to refill them all day. think of the puritank as a larger, better evod.

I take the view that comparisons with other mods are reasonable and fair. i don't have one of everything else and 4 Reos because i feel some altruism towards Rob, but because, very simply, having tried most of everything else - they are the best i have ever come across.

It's my opinion that people really ought to try a lot of different things and waste as much money and time as i have, because then their appreciation of the simple benefits and maintenance of a Reo is striking.

as far as ego's and cost

That is why I got the vamo from fast tech with nightcore charger 2 2600 mah batteries SS for$56
big improvement

as far as low maintenance clero's I use t3's and evod's put them in alcohol when I change coil's

leave em out overnight no real maintenance but costly that way

as far as that goes it's a choice convenience cost's

as far as alternatives I cant say much other then just started trying carto tank

F16 from vapor beast under $10 no cost for shipping seems to be working good
