So I bought a few samples from largely known vendors. Over half of them I can't even taste. I've been steeping for three days and still have not noticed a difference. Am I doing something wrong? My orders were from vaporfi and vapor chef. Are there any tried and true flavors that you can vape right out of the box?

Perhaps you could post some details about the actual juices, the PG/VG ratio, nic level, the atty you're using, the resistance of the coil/s, the battery and voltage/wattage used? Do you smoke? Did you just stop smoking? Have you been sick?

A lot of factors can influence taste. With more information, I'm sure we'll be able to help out!

I'm using a Hanna clone battery and a nautilus tank ( mini and reg) eight hr new bvc coils. I'm using 12 mg nicotine. Even on the higher watts and I can't taste some of the juices. Could it be the coil? I was tasting some of them yesterday. There's no burnt taste and the vapor production is normal, it just has no flavor/ and or a weird flavor. All of the juices are fruit of menthol fruit.

How long have you been vaping? From your join date, it might be fairly recently that you started and you might be having a bout of the dreaded vaper's tongue (lack of taste during the transitionary phase of becoming smoke free).

Your gear should be producing just fine - the BVC coil units are actually known for good flavour production. For shiggles, tho, you might want to swap out the coil unit with a fresh one to see if you've got a gunked coil.

Depends on what you got. From vaporfi I have had their Lemon Apple Candy Crush, double shot orange, and watermelon zest candy crush. Fine right out of the mail. The only one that was my personal taste profile was the double orange. Oh ya, I got a double chocolate too but didn't care fro it right away so never really gave it a chance, but the taste of chocolate was there.

Now Vapor Chef I love many of their juices. Right out of the box ones that I have tried are Southern Hospitatlity, Frosty Blue Jazzberry, Frosty Cranberry (not a fav), Hobbes Blood, and Honey Nut tobacco (yummmmo). Those all get better with time but I can vape em quite nicely right away. Now Funky Monky I ended up giving several weeks mature time in a draw with cap on. Burped and shook a few times but didn't really put any effort into it other then letting it set. Nice after a while, weak and tasteless at first. If I had no knowledge of steeping it would have hit garbage pretty quick. Fluffy cake was pretty good out of mail but really good the longer it sat. I only got a small amount so it didn't last long enough to see time, sorry. Colbertts Wonderful Nuts was another tasteless one until it sat for a couple weeks. I haven't tried it yet again but felt that after a couple weeks was still on the weak side. Not a fav either although I had high hopes for it. Deep thought I usually buy presteeped from local shop. I have just started ordering instead but didn't try it right out of mail because I had so many others to try. It smells like it usually does though. And Beeblebrox I also buy presteeped so no comment. I use a kanger mini on an iTasteMVP2. Sometimes a few days steep just isn't long enough, but for simple flavors it should be at least taste worthy. If you have just quit smoking that may have something to do with it. I know it took a while before I could fully appreciate the taste of these juices. I hated Beeblebrox at first. All I could taste was burnt marshmellow, now I have no idea why I tasted that because it taste nothing like that to me now. If you have a place that sells it locally presteeped or a tasting bar see if you can compare. I don't know if this helps.

I changed the coil and it was the same. I can still taste my pineapple juice really well. Does vapors tongue make you not be able to taste certain things? I could taste my melon flavor great yesterday and I can't taste anything now. Is there something I can do to help if it's just my screwed up mouth?

I would be careful with VaporFi. I can't speak for their juice, but almost all (if not all) of their equipment is rebranded clones or knockoffs of other products marked up to a stupid high price. Basically: I wouldn't trust their juice or anything that they sell. Also, I wouldn't count them as "largely known." They use spam tactics and paid reviews to manipulate their search engine rankings; and filter out all negative reviews from their own website.

Do you have a local vapor shop where you can sample flavors? That's really the most effective way of doing this.

In my experience, the Nautilus w/BVC mutes some flavors into oblivion (up to 11 Watts, I can't speak for higher as of yet). This may be my tastebuds, or it may be the BVC. Some flavors taste the same with the BVC as my mini kayfun in dripper mode, and some loose all their flavor with the BVC. I'm not happy with the way the Nautilus treats the Nicoticket CB, but it's great in the kayfun (though the NT site suggests its better in the Nautilus).

Don't give up, different equipment works for different people. If all else fails, buy a Reo. The Reo enablers keep telling me that is where we'll all wind up eventually.

Reos are : reosmods.com
They can be used with cartos but are best mated with bottom feeding RBAs.

Unfortunately when it comes to flavor we are all different, and different gear presents flavors differently. I have had the same issue, either tastes like air when I try it in the shop or does not taste at all the same when I get it home. Even worse, I get vaper's tongue from ALOT of flavors and can only taste them for a little while.

Might I suggest you check out Nicoticket's Virus. Its a very VERY tasty tobacco with a very strong flavor. I was extremely impressed with it.

My problem with tasting at the shop is that the use the plastic crappy tops( clearos?) and I can't taste anything at all except plastic and the rubber tip. Most people at the store bring their drippers which I don't own

I have the same problem at my local shop - they want to sell juice @ $16.99 yet they put those crappy plastic clearos on top of the testers. Even *without* vaper's tongue I can't taste most of them. They get new flavors seemingly every week - I don't even bother trying to taste them anymore.

The only thing I could suggest for vaper's tongue and which works for me *sometimes*, is to vape with a cup of black coffee. I dislike black coffee but if I take a sip or two I am able to vape for a bit before I have to sip some more. It seems to clear the palate somewhat. Also, during that time I will usually only vape my least expensive and/or least liked juices until it passes, which is usually a few days.
