I've been vaping 24mg for 4+ months now. I am starting to notice headaches everyday for like 2 weeks. I've been poppin asprin like it's candy, but it rarely helps. Anyone else experiencing this? I have noticed I'm having a hard time even putting my ecig down, with cigs there were so many restrictions I couldn't vape in class, or in the bathroom at work, or in my house, so now I find myself vaping more than ever.

Any advice? I'm starting to increase my water consumption, any other advice or others experiencing this?

Hi. I haven't been vaping as long as you but I am also doing 24mg and am noticing that I am vaping more....like during the day, if I am home and now starting in the car, to and from work. I sometimes get headaches but have noticed that they go along with night's I get less sleep.....the headaches aren't bad but they are there....

try dropping the mg to 18 for a while and see what happens i started on 18 went up to 36 back to 18 now im at 11 and pretty steady now no stomic or headachs

That might be it. I've been vaping like a man possessed and having no problems. I use the 11 mg. exclusively. (Well, unless they send me a freebie that's a different strength!) I always got headaches from analogs. Nicotine is a very powerful drug. I can't imagine doing 36 mg.!8-o

I have lived with pretty much a constant a headache my entire life...or so it seems. I thought for sure I was going to get a return to migraines when I started this...either through withdrawal or the reverse. Fortunately....not an ache...

I use the heavy artillery that allows me to get my fill in just a few vapes....then set it down for awhile. Did not want to chain. Conventional wisdom says back off the nic level. But then again...maybe a higher one, but less vaping would work? Who knows...we are all guniea pigs I think sometimes. ;)

I'm worried if I start lowering down the flavor I've come to love so much changes. I tried goin to 18 and my cin roll tasted more like roll than cin. At 24 mg it tastes just like big red. I notice a difference in flavor as you lower down. I started vaping with no intention of quitting smoking, in fact, I loved smoking and never wanted to quit because of my whole "I want to die young before I get old" stance. :p
Looks like I'll be living long time.

Anyone have any experience with taste changing as nic level decreases?

I started out with 18mg and quickly moved up to 24mg. The 18mg just didn't do it for me.

I never really had any intention of quitting smoking either. I only smoked a few cigs a day anyway and only at night. I started this because I was tired of being out in the garage smoking and freezing to death. Wanted an alternative so I could smoke inside. Now I can vape inside and it's great but I am doing it more than I smoked. Guess it's a trade off..........still trying to figure it out.........

Yes Kimmy I notice huge changes in flavor with nic change. Kinda sucks really. Because if they have the flavor I want but it's not in the right nic level it's a crap shoot.
Anyway..... more water is the way to go for sure. Might even want to throw some Gatorade in there for good measure. Going up in nic and trying to lay it down more often would be a good plan too. Just a matter of finding a high nic flav you like I guess. I think the issue isn't so much nic overdose or withdrawal it's probably just way too much PG :p I'm having the similar issues over here too... can't put the damn thing down and I think I might be getting a bladder infection... blech!

Just more thoughts into the mix, generally speaking...

*Fewer, milder headaches here, compared to smoking cigs. Not completely gone, but better.

*Too much of anything can be a prob. That includes vaping.

*Adjusting to a different nic level just takes a bit of time.

*Flavs change with nic level, and lower nic levels have purer flavs--less nic taste, more flav taste. Yeah, TH declines, too. Again, just a bit of time to adjust.

But I've only been vaping for 7 weeks. I do hope things work out for you. By the way, the Who's 'hope I die before I get ol' was my lamplight mantra 20 years ago. As I hit 'middle age', I'm so frickin' glad I'm still going strong! :D

Cranberry juice! Fresh Cherries if you can find them. and water. That should help a bit with kidney/bladder infection.

Kim, try adding a bit of glycerin or V.G. flavored or plain to your refill juice. Also maybe try some 0 nic in a strong flavor..just for an inbetween vape to give yourself a break..it works best when you are distracted on the internet.

The bladder infection might be from a pH change contributed to with vaping. Yes - Cranberry juice FTW!

Just make sure it's real cranberry juice, and not the grape juice flavored to taste like cranberry juice.

My first bladder infection my ObGyn told me about cranberry juice. I felt AWFUL. Went to the store, bought a litre, chugged it in the parking lot, before I made it home (10mins) ZERO discomfort.

Heres a little blurb I found at Answers.com

Just a thought...

Drinking too much water can cause brain swelling, which ultimately leads to a dull headache as the brain pushes against the bone.

While it's (generally) not life-threatening, experts generally agree that if you are urinating more than once every two hours, you are drinking too much water.

You'd need to be drinking a LOT of water, especially since PG is a humectant. Dehydration also causes headaches. In fact, after being hospitalized for dehydration I can declare the symptoms of overhydration and dehydration for me are to darned close to call. :) I guess the secondaries like dry partched lips are a good sign for dehydration. ;)

Big thing to be doing when vaping. Consume lots of water. A lot of people also tend to eat and drink less normal food due to happily vaping away. It happens without even realizing. The biggest cause of headeaches (80%) is dehydration.

PG/VG will dry out your mouth, but the actual dehydration properties are not huge. If you're barely drinking the appropriate amount of water daily anyway? You're gonna get a headache.

Also, drink water or juice. Soda isn't really effective for hydration because carbonic acid contributes to dehydration. Hit the straight water or some juice.

As far as medication? APAP or ibuprofen over Aspirin. Aspirin has awesome uses, but studies have shown that headaches seem to respond best to the anti-inflammatory properties of acetominophen or ibuprofen (tylenol, motrin.. yada yada yada, generics of these)

Drink up!

I've never heard of this, can you explain how this works? As far as I'm aware, the carbonic acid in fizzy drink decomposes into CO2 way before it hits your bloodstream. I can't think of a reason why this would dehydrate you.

Sugar and Caffeine burns up fluid.(Sugar also increases your blood sugar, which is both caused & enabled by dehydration). Carbonic acid is a mildly corrosive agent (look what it does to tooth enamel even when in seltzer water). The fizzies are gone, but you still consumed a broken down acid. Acids, sugars, caffeine all work against hydration. At least that's how it was explained when I was in paramedic school.

You do see more dehydration signs in people who drink lots of soda and eat lots of crappy sugary stuff. Skin turgor is a big sign. Ever want to do a quick easy check of your hydration? Quick pinch of the skin, if it stays in that pinched form instead of quickly going right back? It's called "tenting" and the first thing EMS does when checking how your fluids are. That being said, people over the age of 50 tend to tent regardless of hydration status due to decreased turgor and thinner skin.

You can go a long time with out food but going without enough water will put you in the hospital fast. It's not brain swelling as someone mentioned, you'll vomit up the water long before you reach that point unless you force yourself to keep it down. You might try taking vitamin C and mixing gatorade with water to get extra electrolytes without all of the sugar.
