so after last nights cleanse in alcohol i get a metal taste in my atty. I keep it wet too, i'm always dropping a few drips in it to keep it wet. not too wet though.
I wouldnt really know; not an expert on cleaning (since Im using LRs mostly and keeping them wet once they are fully primed has solved any bad taste issues...), but many times I needed more than one 'cleaning cylce' for some residue would remain...
Getting to think about it, it sounds as if you are not keeping the atty wet enough; because, this is common for many beginners; It sounds as if you are "getting" a burnt taste (And not as if there was a permanent one), which could translate into a pattern if it matches the dry cylces, and you do mention you are not keeping the atty too wet...
Actually, depending on the type of atty it could be a dry atty. If you have a skirted atty (like the ego-t's), you will need to put some PG or liquid through the battery connecting end as well. I do this slowly and ensure that a few drops of pg reach the other side of my atty so that I'm not getting a dry burn after the blow out. Alcohol makes atomizers extremely dry, so rewetting the other side of the atty seems necessary as well.
Cleaned atty's need 4-5 drips, let it sit a minute, take a vape or two, add 2-3 more drops, and you're usually good to go. Dry atty's will taste like metal and it doesn't matter which type.
