Ok I've spent about a week here, and on other forums-researching, reading, writing down tips and recipes, playing with various online calculators just to figure out how they work-think I'll be ordering later this week once I get paid from a private pet sitting job-supplies(nude nicotine, bottles, syringes, pg and vg) and variety of flavors(capella, FA, and a few TFA's)-feel very excited and a little nervous too since this is all new, but i'll start with a lower nic level to work with initially...I actually have been enjoying the research aspect of this...there's a lot of info out there, and it looks like a lot of generous and helpful people here and on the other forum too...thanks to all for sharing tips and recipes-you all make it look less daunting for us newbs, so if I pop up with questions/issues...it's cause I'm new to this and am having issues that I haven't found the answers to here or elsewhere-hope that's ok-I'm almost at one year and this originally wasn't a goal I set for myself-all I planned on doing was dropping nic levels, but after looking at things, this actually looks like a lot of fun-was surprised when I saw the savings too on one of the calculators I tried- once established and with a good base of flavors-wow!

I chose 3 recipes to start with initially to see how I do and so I don't go too crazy with my first orders too. Does that seem like a reasonable way to start off?

Welcome to the world of DYI. Here's some recommended reading to get you going. If you run into problems or have questions we are here to help.

Read my blogs before getting started

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

then read hoosier's blogs.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Yes, DIY is a lot of fun, and is addictive!!

I keep a 50ml batch of "base mix" (30PG/70VG, 12mg nicotine). Whenever I get a new flavor I mix up a small batch, generally around 3ml with just that one flavor. That gives me a good idea of that flavor and how it might work with other flavors. I know that the nicotine level will be off slightly after adding the flavor, but it still gives me an idea of the taste.

I would recommend that when you get the flavors you need for the recipes you have found, try each flavor individually first then mix them together, one at a time. Most of us started with single flavor mixes to get used to the process.

Good luck and enjoy it!

Thanks guys, read the stickies and blogs, they actually came up a few times with my lurking/research, you guys have put so much on these forums and it is so appreciated for sharing...thank you for doing so...it's so nice and makes everything so accessible...Yes single flavors and different brands to see what my preferences will be, I am starting with simple 1-2 flavor recipes to start and will test individual flavors in small amounts first before blending together. And documenting important too....very excited to place my first small order...love the idea of base/nic batch...Thanks!
